It's very little for me. €50 over a raft of bets for the World Cup.

What odds do you want, they wont do it again. 5/2 seem fair?

15/8 champions league 1/2 spanish league... current odds

900 on Hurricane Fly to win the G1 Novice Hurdle at Punchestown in 2009....easiest 600 I ever made!

Hit Paddy Power for about €1,800 before on a World Cup Special bet, that was my fav ever cos it took a bit of cunning to get all the money on.

Once lost a 'monkey' by being beaten the shortest of short heads in a race at L'town, oh well!

€2 is usually what i gamble with. gambling more doesn't really appeal to me because i never win anything. So losing the odd €2 wont break the bank.

I once put €2 on a 20 team accumulator. just picking teams at random and i got 19 out of 20 and my last team was winning at half time and drew frown.gif would of won 20k maybe more. i will never forgive Fiorentina.

Accumalators are the way to go...never a more exiting evening than a champions league evening with 7 or 8 teams with 4 euro getting possibly 500 back, i will never forgive roma for the same reason, letting in a last minute equaliser  a well, only 4 euro after all

Accumalators are a quick way for the bookie to make some money.

Most I've put down would be about 250 / 300. Haven't really bet much in the last year or so though.

On one horse, €1200'ish I think.

It was second and was last the whole way, went around a bunch of horses and just failed (Jamie Spencer for ya )

The most when I won was €550 on Ransom Note to win the Britannia Stakes at Ascot last year.

€200 on a bitch called Long Acre in the Oaks in Clonmel about 7 years ago, she was local so the winnings were nothing compared to the craic around the place.

Twas on the last day I think she was at 5/1

I built a pile quickly at a casino once and got carried away with success and drink. I think I pushed about €700 back on a single spin. Dope. Strictly speaking, I think that only cost me €20, so I can't moan.
On a dog, €200. She came in, I had a good holiday.

£500 twice. First in 1985 on Barry McGuigan to beat Pedrosa @11/10 and the second in 1994/5 on Collins against Eubank in Millstreet the same price. Was afraid of a draw, so I also put £16 @33/1 the draw in another shop nearby. The manager gave me a strange look :)

As I said in my post one of my biggest bets ever was a loser, at the time it was my biggest bet ever, I can still recall it like it was yesterday.

    €5.

    No joke.

Most of the time I do €1 accumulators at about 500/1. Mostly football but during the summer I'll do some horse racing, tennis, or golf.

I normally bet against Ireland in things, 100quid when we beat Holland in Lansdowne en-route to Japan& Korea best 100 quid I ever spent, thank you Jason McAteer
100 on Ireland not to get out of the group in RWC 2007; the money didn't absolve the pain, but it probably covered my bar bill for the duration.

I have a mate who's quite into his horses, I've won a fair bit when I've gone racing with him, I have seen him head in his hands when he lost 10k on a horse (Galileo)

What a pointless bet. You put on €150 in the hope of winning less than a tenner??

300 on man utd win v newcastle @ 4/6 about 5/6 years ago. Last bet was 100 on Porto @1/2 v Braga in final. Both 1-0 games

Think it was €200. Spurs were after getting a new sponsor, Mansion.com, a few years back. As a promotion and to get people to join their site, they had a deal on the opening game of the NFL. You could put a max bet of €200 on the Colts (I think) to win or get your money back, I forget what the odds were. I layed it with another bookie and walked away with a few hundred. Easy money, only time I've ever used their site :D

7.5k on a basketball game. The Trailblazers to beat the Spurs. Found out that 2 Spurs starters were out and as usual Paddy Power were slow to adjust the odds on American markets. Blazers went from 2.25 to 1.53 about 5 mins after I got on it. Blazers won by 12 points.

    No they're not.

Most I ever put on was €20 or so I think, can't remember if it won or not. :/ Usually don't put on more than a fiver.

I've a mate who likes a flutter so usually end up sticking a euro or two on a horse while I'm waiting for him to finish up in the bookies on the way to the pub.

Around a year ago I put a euro on a yoke at 66/1 for the craic, it tore home and I got about €80.

Thing is, I was happy with that although he'd view it as losing €3k rather than winning €80 because he would've had €50 on it. Gamblers :P

Most I've put on is about €8 at the Galway races.

My brother witnessed a man put €38000 to win on Cloone River, the odds-on favourite to win the Galway Plate (?) a few years ago...... and....

He fell at the first hurdle.

Put 200 on Spurs to beat West Brom a few years ago. West Brom were 1-0 up until the last 10 minutes when Robbie Keane scored twice. I still struggle to find reasons to like Robbie Keane :pac:

Havn't heard the word Eircom, property investments etc. mentioned here.

Its exactly the same thing, buying shares, only much bigger stakes involved and a much longer race.

The feeling when you lose is also worse. By definition, gambling on the stock or property market, your not talking here about losing tens or twenties. And the feeling you get when you get it right and you win, you feel absolutely brilliant.

    €200 and it lost.

And I carried that betting slip around with me for 6 months, so I could look at it when someone else rang me with word from the stable.
