You need better quality photos for a start. No mention of service history when that's what the warranty depends on.

Take the pics in a area with a nice background not against a farmers stable. It makes it look like a farmers car that spent all its life going through fields.:)

Thats one of my outside sheds, and I am not a farmer! :)

Ok will take better pics asap

Also clean up the wheels & put some tyre gel on the tyres, it makes the whole car look cleaner!
You need a better pic of the interior.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 944 ✭✭✭techie

Ok thanks for all the tips, price etc ok?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,009 ✭✭✭OldmanMondeo

Also, what you hiding on the passengers side? Take pictures of the full car, front, rear, Drivers side and passengers side. Take a picture of the speedo showing milage. Take some of the interior to show it is clean and tidy, front seats, rear seat and boot.

More shots of the interior aswell, you have the plates hidden in 2 photos but clearly visible in the other.Personally, I wouldn't cover them up at all

hi, i could also do with some advice on car sale, should i start new thread? although I have a feeling there is nothing wrong with ads or photos, but the asking price...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,009 ✭✭✭OldmanMondeo

Change the milage to show miles and not klms, the klms make the car look like it has done more than the milage, if you get my drift. Is there any other extras that the car has? ie leather steering wheel etc, cause it is an EX spec, a lot of people will not know what this spec gives, so list it. You need to make the car look like it has loads of extras compared to others, does it have a full size spare wheel? Looking at you picture, does it have dual climate control? ie heating controls on both sides? is it 4,5 or 6 speed?

Usual rule of thumb is check what others are going for and see how it compares. Also bear in mind, any money you may owe on it, how quick you want to get rid of it?

Its a bit expensive for a 11 year old car allthough it is a lovely motor though.

-Corkie- did you find it on adverts? :) im not in big rush to get rid of it, i paid 11.5k for it 3 years ago, spend about 1.5 getting it looking like that and possibly 2.5k (cringe) on repairs!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 944 ✭✭✭techie

Are pics taken in the rain a No no when selling a car?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 84,707 ✭✭✭✭Atlantic Dawn
    M

You can put up 10 photos, try to take 10 photos. You need to take your photos somewhere else like an empty car park and have the car on level paved ground and not on loose gravel or grass to give the impression the car spends most of its life on the road. Take photos of the boot, back seats, sides and back along with front and engine, also pics of the service book or additional keys will help to sell it.

Just had a look at your ad there, really nice example and well done ad but you're going to have to come down on price by about €1500 unfortunately. There are dealers selling '00 models for under €3k, not as clean or as well specked as yours but that's a big difference.

This is advertised at €3450 so €3k would probably drive it away with a 3 month warranty.

Dealers advertising for under €7500 - you need to come in better than that.

For EX spec, seen ones that are LX (lower spec) ???

But you get dealer back up too and to many that's worth it. The ad still doesn't say FSH and KIA are quite picky on that for maintaining the warranty.
