Wall-E is a wonderful movie, the first matrix just rewrote the script as far as action/sci-fi movies and the original die hard in my humble opinion is second only to raiders of the lost ark in terms of greatest action movies ever made

    • The Terminator movies
    • Casablanca
    • Citizen Kane
    • Actually most of those old movies
    • Apocalypse Now
    • Taxi
    • Taxi Driver
    • Pretty much any western, or anything with Clint
    • The second two Lord of the Rings
    • Any Pirates of the Caribbean movies bar the first

    • Any Indiana Jones movie
    • Any James Bond movie
    • Snatch
    • Any Rocky movie

I don't know, there are loads more.
I have seen more movies than most people, but they tend to be mostly quirky, lessor known movies.

I've never seen the Lion King, which appears to be unique among people my age.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,788 ✭✭✭✭krudler

The problem with watching popular and renowned movies long after their release is that your expectations are usually too high. Show someone in 1977 Star Wars and they would have thought it was the best thing ever, show someone it now for the first time and its not the same thing, its lost its initial impact as you've heard so much about it for years.

In the past copyright laws were different. They forgot to reregister the film and so it became public domain for a while. ie. TV channels could show it for free and they did.

havnt seen the matrix sequels, i hadnt seen any of the lord of the rings, untill the extended editions box set was released, watched for a straight 9 hours.
i think i've only seen the first harry potter, or most of it, never sat down to watch it properly,

i dont really go to the cinema, so havnt seen the recent ones like inception, or black swan, avator

batman begins, or the dark knight either,
i usually wait to see movies on the tv, then im busy when they happen to be on, or i miss the first 5 minutes, and just dont bother

Ah ya need to watch it backwards; it becomes a charming story of a kind-hearted surgeon who operates on three terribly disfigured individuals in an attempt to allow them to have some quality of life and re-integrate into society....;)

I honestly dont understand this kind of thinking, surely you could watch it and make up your own mind about whether its good or not? I knew I'd hate Twilight, I watched it anyway just to make up my own mind, it sucks, but at least I have an informed opinion :pac:
