hi guys, i need electrical wiring colours help

    cut through my hedge trimmer cable about a metre from the handle end

    so decided to open hedge trimmer up and reattach cable to the inside disposing of cut off bit of cable.

    disconnected wiring from the inside of hedge trimmer and stupidly didn't take note of colour codes, eejit that i am ! hangs head in shame :o

    the wires inside the hedge trimmer are black and brown so ???

    so what goes to what ???

    is it brown to ???

    and blue to ???

    there is no 3rd wire

    Brown = Live

    Blue = Neutral

    Green/Yellow = Earth

    Black to Blue normaly
    Brown to brown
