Knives being sharpened....makes my teeth itch and my balls tighten!

What's the reason for being reasonable?

    Is that an unreasonable question?

The sound of people giving out sh*te about nonsense phobias about different sounds and other intolerances.
    Shuttup already.
Waaaay to many intolerances and phobias over the past 20 years or so.
WTF did we do before them all??

    Yes, babies crying.

    Also traffic.
    Especially in rain.
Can cause me to have a panic attack.

That noise that electrical things make, like the fridge and tv.

    Coughing drives me nuts.

Actually, I hate most noises, especially ones that come without warning.

That rubbing noise people make on the pages of a news paper and on tissue sometimes.

Just thinking about it gives me the shivers.

When I accidentally do it myself I feel like punching stuff. Ughh I hate it.

Apparently this is a condition. For me, its click of lips when people talk, slurping tea, clicking finger nails, whistling. Drives me NUTS.

    Anyone else suffer?

    Just saw your link.

Never heard of the conditions they mention.

I have sensory processing disorder though.
That's much more commonly known - are they the same thing?

hearing people writing or colouring with a marker, people cracking knuckles

The screech of the auxiliary drive belts. The screech of the wife's voice. The screech of nails on a blackboard. The screech of a baby.

Many of today's so-called pop singers. Off the Ball.

    Anything that screeches, basically.

Sorry to hear about your disorder though.

Part and parcel with my ADD.

Just googled hyperacusis and misophonia there, and from what I can gather, they are both types of sensory processing disorder, which affect auditory processing.

Edit: I don't think that made sense!
I mean that I think they are both types of auditory processing deficits, and auditory processing falls under sensory processing.
Still feel like I'm not making sense!
    Ah well!

    Loud Slurping of soup.
Loud Slurping of a juicy type of fruit or icepop.
Scraping of cutlery on a plate whilst eating.
    Heavy breathing.
    Snoring
Low battery beeping alert on smoke alarm.

All of the above really irritate me.
The longer it goes on, the more progressively tense and angrier I get.
I feel a release of tension when the noise stops.
Don't think I have a special condition though, it just pisses me off cos it's very annoying, and I think most people find these sounds annoying!:)

People rustling a plastic bag or crisp packet at a time when there is no other noise, i.e. in the cinema or when I was backpacking, staying in a dorm with 15 other people and there was always one who would wake up at the crack and start packing or doing some kind of nonsense which always involved plastic bags.
