Eggs are good cholesterol?

Just read in a copy of 'Healthy for Men' magazine that scientists have now found out that the Cholesterol in eggs is not the same as the 'bad' cholesterol found in other foods. They go on to say that you can go to town on eggs now as there are no unhealthy aspects to eating them.

My gf through out the copy, otherwise I'd print the page in a link. I'm only new to the eating well scene so don't want to believe everything I read.

Just wanted to know if anyone else heard this and is it true ?

If it's not true, is one egg a day the maximum I should be eating ? Read somewhere else that an egg was 200 cholesterol out of 300 max per day.

    Thanks :)

Yah, you're fine. There are a good few posts about eggs on here that will probably tell you more than what you read in the magazine. Do a search.

I eat 4 eggs every morning for breakfast. Ive had my cholesterol done and it was perfect. As far as I know most people with cholesterol issues generally have it because of genetics, or a very poor diet overall. I don't think eating eggs is going to affect it much.

OP, the myth that eggs negatively affect cholesterol was debunked years ago.

Eggs are awesome. The eggs are bad goes back to the 80s when they didn't fully understand that there is two patterns of LDL iirc

They actually mad their minds up a long time ago. Eggs are good. The study that showed they were high in cholesterol was done before LDL and HDL were discovered and not only that, it was a study commissioned by Kelloggs. Obvious bias there.

Heard a long time ago that the cholesterol in eggs was not known or meant to increase cholesterol in the body.

Myth purported by the US egg council who knows but as with most things everything in moderation within reason and where possible.

When arguing with a stone, an egg is always wrong:D

Speaking of eggs, what exactly is with the Omega 3 eggs? I've heard some just feed the chickens flax seeds while others actually feed the chickens fish (& I'd guess it would be the corn fed fish at that).

AFAIK the omega eggs are flax fed. In humans the conversion to o3 from flax is pitiful, but the conversion rate is much higher to 03 from flax in chickens etc so id imagine their is a benefit somewhat. Those omega eggs are just so flippin expensive, the old liquid oil is much easier and potent to get O3
