Sudden alcohol intolerance?

I hope I'm posting this in the right forum so please redirect if necessary.

In the last 6 months I've developed a real alcohol intolerance. I never drunk a lot in the past, except in my late teens but certainly for the last 20 years I've hardly been drunk more than 5 times. Up till this year I'd have a few drinks maybe a couple of times/month with no problems.

But then in January I drunk 2 Jaegermeisters with food (they were recommended to me as digestives) and was really ill for 24 hours afterwards - vomiting every 30 minutes to an hour for about 12 hours with a splitting headache.

In April I had a glass of lager with food and then later 2 Baileys. Woke up 3 hours later with the same thing - splitting headache and vomiting repeatedly for about 6 hours.

Then last weekend I had half a glass of lager, again with food, and had another spell of repeated vomiting and a splitting headache.

All the incidents feel like a really, really, really bad hangover - the headache is so bad that any movement triggers more sickness and light and noise are really unwelcome. Even when I've nothing left to vomit, I'm still rushing to the bathroom every half hour (excuse the detail but wanted to put everything in!).

I'm early 40's, weigh 8 stone and am 5' 5" tall. I'm not on any medication and eat healthily.

I'm not that bothered if I can't drink alcohol anymore really but what puzzles me is why I'm like this all of a sudden? I'm tempted to blame age but could it be anything else?

    Thanks!

Don't know but I'd say a case for the medical doctor

I would firstly avoid mixing drinks and secondly avoid having alcohol with food specifically.. try having one beer a couple of hours after food and dont mix in any other alcohol... If I mixed dinner, beer and baileys I dont think id feel too good either

This is something to go to a relevant medical professional about, not internet strangers.

    All the best OP.
