I was at the docklands run last week and was a given a leaflet for a free class and and 25 euro off membership with this crowd. Site looks good, might take them up on the free class. Anybody on here a member, what do you think of them?

Yeah I've been going to the bootcamp classes in the Phoenix Park for the last 4 weeks. What exactly do you wanna know?

Haven't been for a while due to injury, but plan on re-joining when I can.

    Thanks for that Juke.

I have been involved in sport and lifting weights/running etc for a couple of years anyway, and was only flirting with the idea of joining for a couple of weeks in summer because of the half decent weather we've been getting and to keep fitness levels up.

Are they actually decent workouts or just jogging around the park for an hour?! Because I don't need to pay 100+ to go running around Phoenix park!!

Also got a flyer from an army style bootcamp which I thought would be good, but just looks like a trainer dressed in army gear shouting at middle aged women..seems pretty lame/cheesy!!

God no - some instructors like running more than others, some prefer a circuit type class, but all classes include a lot of core and upperbody exercises, also plenty of squats and lunges.

If you check out the Friday Fit video link on the home page, the type of exercises mentioned in the clips would be regular in most classes.

With the nice long evenings, I am jogging myself - but I'm itching to get back to more intense and varied workouts the classes give.

Why don't you take them up on the "try a class for free offer"?

Well I find the classes quite tough going now and I’m still only in their intermediate fitness category. I play rugby with my college and thought this would be handy way to keep the fitness up over the summer/sweat out the summer pints etc. The trainers are serious once the hour starts and you have to remember your working non stop for the hour, so regardless of which trainer you have on the night, whatever you’re doing is going to be intense. It’s pretty cool not knowing what type of workout you have until you get to your session, I would have stayed at home if I had known how hard the kettlebell class was going to be my second session in! :pblank.gif Don’t really know what else I can tell you, but I’m really enjoying it anway!

Thanks for that guys. Ended up Using my voucher for the free class last Saturday morning and headed up to Phoenix park. Loved the workout and was in bits the next morning from head to toe! Delighted with it anyway;good trainer, tough workout and the group were all pretty friendly. All signed up for eight weeks!
