Any fellow sufferers out there? Any tips on how to deal with it? I only get them sometimes but they are a pain. Was with a guy sat night and I'm ruined now :(

Hee hee, it depends....where's the rash?:o:p

If it's on your neck or face from some extreme kissin, try sudocream for the irritation.

If it's, ahem, elsewhere, seek more flora-friendly alternatives in the chemist.

Edna! You dirty girl! :p Innocent me had assumed it had to be on the face!

Yeah a good moisturiser, sudocream, or aloe vera if it's very delicate would all be good, do you have sensitive skin in general? I haven't gotten beard rash since I was about 16 so it just struck me that maybe your skin might be more prone to it or something? I did a lotta kissing in college and never got it...and I like my men with a bit of stubble, not clean shaven :D

Tell him to grow a proper beard! it's only stubble that gives it!

She's hardly gonna tell a boy she was kissing on a Saturday night how he should wear his facial hair!

    And beards are yokky

Ah beard rash, the horror! I get it occasionally, twice I've had it so bad that people have asked me what happened to my face :o I just politely ask my boyfriend to shave, but obviously that's not a possibility if it's some stubbly fella you've just met.

Prevention is still better than cure though! When you're kissing, change sides occasionally, and break it up a bit with neck kissing etc, that should help minimise the damage somewhat.

If you've already got the beard rash, use a moisturiser for sensitive skin, or one with aloe vera in it. Stay away from any exfoliating facial washes. Covering it in makeup is immensely tempting but do not do this if the skin is broken.

Beards don't give me a rash, they just tickle...:D

The best cure for stubble rash I've found is lathering on bepanthen...it's a nappy rash cream but it works a charm on stubble rash. Only problem is it's very obvious you have the cream on so it's a bit of a house-bound cure.

[happy memories] try elizabeth arden 8 hr cream - its v effiective, put it on at night going to bed and there'll be a big improvement by morning. it is pricy but you dont need much so a tube will last ages [/happy memories]

I second 8 hour cream....and try not to put make up on it if you can at all.

Yup, 8 Hour Cream is the one you need, you'll look like an oil slick going to bed, but you'll wake up much improved. And the only thing you can do to avoid it is build up a tolerance!!

I hate when I get that, but I tend to go for more beards than stubble so I don't get it much thank god. I used sudocream last time but it wasn't too great.

i used to be really prone to it and always used vaseline for it. I would put loads on before going to bed and it made a huge difference..eventually I think my skin toughened up a little bit.

I fcuking love beard rash. Sign of a good night :) Personally, I'd subscribe to the no-pain-no-gain school of thought, although an intensive moisturiser for dry skin works quite well. Anything Elizabeth Arden works a treat.

Thanks peeps! Going to try the Elizabeth Arden cream. I have sensitive enough skin I suppose. It can be totally random though if I get it.

    :)
