Ok guys that time of year again I will kick it off to get the discussion going. As per the pole 4 up 4 down is the promotion relegation. Champs in Bold. Can someone confirm the champ for the D2.

And someone from the D1 and D2 find the 4 best and 4 worst from those divisions so we can promote relegate. I will go through the prem now.

Justr reading through the old thread a few things need to be discussed:

- Ranking system to see who goes up and down vs the 4 teams that were best in playoffs

- The rules once and for all need to be discussed to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Anyone with anything else to add lets discuss and progress forward.

I think the plan was to use these rankings for this season. If anyone doesn't re-enter this year then everyone below them gets bumped up a spot.

Just one thing about the waiver wire rule. For me it should reset every week. I think its the fairest way because it makes the game more competitive and gives guys a chance to recover from a bad/unlucky draft.

I'm in as well. Wasnt sure when this thread was gonna start with the lockout in place. Will be good to get discussions going and rules set in place across all divisions.

As far as i know there was a smaller division three in place last year but until someone from that division comes forward with the names from that division they cant be added to the list.

You mean reset to the reverse order of standings yeah? Just because one year I was in a league that reset it to the reverse of the draft order every week and that was a woeful method.

In any case I'm in favour of the method we had last year - the pick-and-go-to-the-back-of-the-line method. I just think it is fair to everyone. I don't see why teams with a good record should be penalised by being at the back of the queue each and every week. With this method you can bide your time and wait 'til you move up the order or else take a chance from middle position. It adds more strategy to it and it's fair to everyone. I just don't get why it should be balanced to favour the weaker teams.

2. Every week the waiver wire resets putting the worst record teams at top filtering down to the stronger teams by record.

I assume we are going with nfl.com again this year? I thought it was a good set-up last year and the live scoring is a great feature. I just wanted to clarify this because these are their waiver options for this season:

WAIVERS
In Custom Leagues, waivers are an optional league setting determined by your League Manager. To view your league's specific waiver settings, click the League Tab and navigate to the Settings link at the top of the page. If your league does not have waivers enabled, all players will immediately become free agents upon being dropped.

For leagues with waivers enabled, dropped players may be placed on waivers, where all teams have the opportunity to place a claim for a player. Waivers is a set amount of time that a player is frozen prior to being added to a team. The waiver period in Custom Leagues can be 0-4 days and is set by your League Manager. Waivers help to ensure that all teams in your league have a fair chance to add players either directly after a fantasy draft or on a weekly basis in-season.

If your league has Waivers enabled, players will lock according to league setting (either First Game of the week or individual Game Time). Any player available as a Free Agent within the league will switch over to Waivers at this time. Based on your individual Custom League settings, these players will stay on Waivers through the early morning of Wednesday (1 day waivers), Thursday (2 day waivers), Friday (3 day waivers) or Saturday (4 day waivers) morning of the following week. All teams within the league have the opportunity to place waiver claims from the player's lock time (individual game time) through the night before players clear through waivers (specific day based on league settings). Again, these lock times and waiver settings are dependent on your Custom League settings for waivers.

If your league has Waivers enabled, the following Waiver Types are offered by NFL.com:

Inverse Order of Standings - Gives teams with the poorest records (or lowest draft position) the best waiver priority to claim players on waivers. Waiver priority is reset each Tuesday based on the current league standings (throughout the duration of the fantasy regular season). During the week, a team's waiver priority will also change with a successful waiver claim. Note that in the fantasy playoffs (specific weeks dependent on your league settings), the waiver priority no longer resets based on inverse order of standings, as the standings do not update after your league's regular season has ended. Instead, waiver priority is based on a continual rolling list (move to end after a successful waiver claim), the same as in-week waiver moves during the regular season. This helps to ensure that the lowest seeded playoff team does not have a weekly advantage over other competing playoff teams.
Move to Last After Claim - Sets the waiver priority based on the opposite of the draft order, but only changes waiver priority when a successful waiver claim is made.
Waiver Acquisition Budget (WAB) - Each team is allotted a seasonal budget. This seasonal budget is the amount of points that each team has at their disposal to bid on available players. The team with the highest bid wins that player and is charged the amount of WAB points that they bid to obtain the player. If you bid on a player, but lose to a higher bid, you do not forfeit the amount of points that you bid. All of the WAB points that you bid will be returned to your seasonal budget. In the event of a tie, the team with higher waiver priority will win the bid. For more information, visit Waiver Acquisition Budget (WAB).
When a player is placed on waivers and more than one owner claims him, the team with the higher waiver priority is awarded the player. As noted above, each time a successful waiver claim is completed, the team awarded that player is moved to the end of the Waiver Priority list for their next transaction. You can view the results of your waiver claims by selecting the Waiver Report from within the navigation on your My Team page.

If there are no claims on a player during the waiver period, the player becomes a free agent (i.e. can be picked up at any time). Note that if you drop a player and place him on waivers, you are unable add that player to your roster again until after the waiver period has expired.

Your team’s current waiver priority is displayed on the League Page in the Standings area, next to your team’s win/loss streak.

FREE AGENTS
A free agent is a player who is not currently on a fantasy roster either because that player was not drafted, has not been added to a roster, or has been released by his previous owner and cleared waivers. You can add a free agent player at any time leading up to your league’s add/drop deadline before that week’s games.

I guess we also need to decide on how long the waiver period is each week.. two days seems fair to me?

I included the free agent bit at the end just to show that once the waiver period has passed then you can then add players without affecting your waiver ranking. I feel this is one of the key points for the pick-and-go-to-back-of-queue waiver system. If you are have a middle ranking in a given week you can choose to wait it out and move up the waiver order as others make a pick, and still you can pick up a player later in the week.

Either TO or eagle eye has mentioned in another thread that Tom Brady will be back before the start of the season so i reckon he is in.

I'm happy whichever way the waiver wire is set up, i can see the upside to both choices. So i'm gonna abstain from that vote.

Hi, I'll take a spot if there's a spare one too. I'm not a regular on here but am an NFL FF addict (had 8 teams last year), am involved in keeper and other leagues on other forums, so I'm a reliable player and won't abandon my team after a few weeks.

I would say a lot of people are waiting until CBA is agreed before thinking about the boards FF league. If you're gonna set a deadline i would leave it as late as possible (early august imo). We didnt draft until early september last year.

Its good to see people confirm quickly so we may get these divisions sorted before then.

The reason I ask is that there is plenty of Boards regulars on the waiting list and lots of unknowns and guys who never posted even during last years ones stuck in there. Say all the regulars in here confirm with us and then we are waiting on guys who havent signed in since Sept 2010 to come back to us.

Personally I would like to see the divisions sorted out earlier just in case it does get messy ye know. After all it is a Boards league.

There will be a lot of re-shuffling and there was a Div 3 last year also. Id say what will happen is the re-shuffle will sort out all 4 divisions. Added you to the list above.

No doubt it will get messy. If we want to get these divisions sorted quickly maybe we should be proactive and PM those who havent confirmed yet and give them a deadline of say 14th July (3 weeks away) to reply and confirm. If they havent replied they get pushed out and everyone below them gets bumped up one.

I would also say to add as a rule going forward that all participants confirm their participation by June 30th each year to avoid all this messyness in future years.

I signed in top NFL.com and you can continue the league from last year and add and remove owners at will so right now the relegated ones I have removed from the Prem League

I will send everyone in the League an Email from the NFL.com thing to get them to sign in and confirm, I will then pm everyone one of the promoted guys and get them to join and confirm that way we we will have the Prem setup.

How will that work for Division One. Lightning Bolt was admin for that league and he is now a premier man. I'll gladly take over admin duties for division one if its possible to do so or else we may have to set up a new league on NFL.com

He can pass the league duties on to someone else before he leaves it. If he activates the league and then designates the ownership to one of the long serving members who has already confirmed that person then can be the league GM.

PM him there and get him to pass it on to you if you fancy looking after considering you are on the ball

Division one passed over to Spawn of Spongey. I've tried signing in to the Premier but it tells me that the league is full for some reason. Once I can sign up to the Premier I'll do so.

I was in Boards Division 3 last season and just missed out on the playoffs.
