    Hi everyone,
I am based in Cork, & sailed ICRAs last weekend, now in the middle of Sovereigns week... I dont say this to blow my own trumpet but most of the threads here are small boat/freshwater oriented - which is great - but I think there is room here for a thread on
    - Round Ireland
    - Dun Laoghaire - Dingle
    - ICRAs
    - Cork Week
    - Sovereigns week
    - Crewseeker/boatseeker
    - Sail trim
    - etc...

    Any takers?

    - FoxT

Didn't think I'd need to explain to someone with approx 10 x my own number of posts that if you'd like a thread about something; you start one rather than suggesting topics for the rest of us to talk about.

Well, I have started a thread, and made some suggestions.. It might work, or it might not. Lets see.

I have lost interest in all racing now, having particpated in Sovereigns week, Cork week - summer league's, October league's etc.....

More intersted now in just pottering about the place and taking in easy. The days of smacking my knees off the top of coachroofs, being roared at by cranky skippers and getting soaked sitting on the rail are well and truely over, thank god.:)

Although a crewfinder sticky is a good idea, there are plenty of posters coming on looking for a bit of experience.

I did Sovereigns - what a rotten wet miserable few days of sailing that was - still, got all the races in despite not leaving the bar before 2 every night... :D

Didn't help that I was also living on the boat... mmm damp.

Anyone doing DL week this weekend coming?

As a sailing forum, there's no hope of competing with Anarchy for serious traffic but there's no harm in boardsies having our own little spot :)

    Park?? Nightmare city.
The harbour will be available but it's expensive, €2/hr 0900-2000 7 days, the underground is a bit cheaper if you get a long term ticket.. (http://www.dlharbour.ie/content/notices/public_notice_parking_jan_2011.php).
If you go off the harbour it's cheaper and you only pay till 7.
There's free parking further out but it'd be a bit of a walk and the spots are few and far between on workdays.

You can park nearby for free on Sunday but I'm not posting the location here (or else the world and his mother will know about it :D) - pm me if you want to know where. :)

guys i normally race with are doing dl but this year i just couldnt be bothered doing it. ive grown to hate racing on dublin bay the last few years and poor race management. also one thing about dl regatta and racing there is that the social scene is split up so much between the clubs but thats always been the case
