Quick Question

Hi,
This is my first post. Well, in this forum, I'm banned from my own for now at least. I've read the charter. Is it ok for me to post here? I'm a man.
So for stuff that relates to both men and women is it ok to post here? Or does it just have to be women?

Now for my question..
If you were on a bus, standing downstairs and it was packed with people, and a man got up and offered you a seat, even though he was younger than you...by about 15 years. Lets say the man is 26, and the woman is in here 40's.
How would you feel about this?

Do you mean if, hypothetically, I am a woman in my 40s, and a guy in his early to mid 20s offers me his seat on a busy bus?

I would be flattered, and would thank him for the very kind offer, but would see if there were an older/less able bodied person (male or female) standing who might need the seat more than I do

I'm sure your heart was in the right place but I'm guessing that you got a bad reaction.

My reaction would be thanks, but I'm ok. Inside id be wondering do I look pregnant or old and feel a bit insulted but i wouldn't show it to you as you were trying to do something nice.

I would think what a nice person to offer me his seat. It would be rude to think anything else.

This was on the radio the other day....some man got roared at for offering his seat to a woman.

I'm on the fence...I too would be wondering if I looked pregnant/unwell/old....Then again, I would be the first to offer a seat to someone who looked pregnant/unwell/old.

I'd politely decline if it was offered to me but I'm the type of person who would have no problem asking someone to give up their seat if I was in need of it.

The charter you claim to have read states the forum isn't for polling women on their opinion, so perhaps another read of it is in order?

I'm not sure where you are going with this anyway, other than trying to duplicate the thread in the forum you are currently banned from which had some kind of "dem silly wimminz throwing chivalry back in de poor man's face" type overtures.

I appreciate you now can't post in "your own" forum but I would seriously recommend you don't pick up here where you left off there lest it all end the same way.

As there is no broader discussion that can arise from this topic that would be adhering to the ethos of this forum, I'm locking the thread
