I've yet to see one that isn't (in my opinion) tacky.

Depends on the tattoo and person but cool imo

Don't have any but have seen many a cool one. Never liked anything enough to have it permanently on my body.

I should be more specific: other people's tattoos might be tacky. Mine is cool.

I've got one, a wolf on my arm. Don't regret it no. I like wolves, couldn't care less whether anyone else thinks it's tacky or cool.

blokes get tattoo's in a effort to look tough..women get tattoo's so they can show more flesh.

people who try to say they are art are just fooling themselves.

    Tacky.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,219 ✭✭✭PK2008

The ones you get with chewing gum are the coolest

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,915 ✭✭✭MungBean

Some are cool, the real artwork ones. But majority of people who get them just get them to have a tattoo. And as with all things powered by sheep it ends up with alot of people looking stupid.

Well, I haven't ever seen a woman with a tatoo and thought "that really improves things".

Also that "one arm" thing that a lot of blokes have these days is just retarded.

Most are cool. Some are tacky.

Tacky, can't stand them or understand why people get them.

I think if a tattoo has some very special meaning or is something to do with very personal memories etc, its cool. But people just getting random designs or squiggles etc, it's just a bit gay really...

Hopefully he'll get a frying pan tatoo'd on his face.

My advice - as an oldie:)- imagine what it would look like on the fat 50 year old in the chipper or your girlfriend/boyfriends granny with the bad hip.

Ye are all heading there - and you can take the piercings out and change the image but tatoos are for life. If you have to get one - at least get one you can cover with average summer clothes.

I am not obsessed with fashion but I think an elegant evening dress doesn't look quite the same with a huge barbed wire tat on the shoulder.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,838 ✭✭✭theboss80

It depends where they are aswell though, nothing worse than seeing tatts on a womans chest I think. Each to their own though

The difference between people who have tattos and those who don't, is that people with tattoos don't care if someone else doesn't have them.

If you like them, get them if you want; if you don't, don't. Don't waste time worrying about what other people think is "cool".

I have no problem with them if they are small and discreet. But the majority I see are usually quite tacky.

I'm pretty certain I'd never get a tattoo myself but I have nothing against them.

    Tacky! 100% tacky.

Just wait until everything goes south and your skin gets wrinkly, that tattoo will get a whole new lease of life :pac:

I quite like them, have had desires my whole life to get them done but have yet to take the plunge. I have a general idea for a number of pieces I want but have yet to find the artist to do them or be at the right point to get them done.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,538 ✭✭✭flutterflye

I like some of the artistic or symbolic ones.
I hate pointless tattoos, like a heart on your hip or something for no reason.
Some of them are just pure tacky, like big gaudy brightly coloured flowers, or if someone is just covered head to toe with a million different tattoos.
So, it depends hugely on the appearance, creativity, symbolism, expertise, and general tastefulness.
    It is all subjective.

Oh and I don't have one.
I'm too much of a wuss to ever get one.

Tacky. Especially fat women with tattoos on their lower back and showing it off on a night out. That's just wrong for everyone involved.

Tattoos are a handy way of identifying Skangers.

They're not called Tramp Stamps for no reason.

They're not called Tramp Stamps for no reason.

I thought "tramp stamp" was a reference to a tattoo on the small of the back, normally used by morons?

    No they're Arse Antlers.

I really like them, I would have one if I wasn't so afraid of the pain. I also have a weakness for men with sleeve tattoos....

Dunno about tacky, but when I see Celtic, Tribal or any tatoos with writing, I instantly think "Knacker".

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 24,878 ✭✭✭✭arybvtcw0eolkf

    Mine are cool.

It depends, if its on someone and looks like they literally picked it off the wall chart then it looks shít. Tribal design looks shít, typical wannabe tough guy design that one.

People who get tats that celebrities have are clearly morons, i remember seeing an absolute barge of a woman, about 50 years old, with a tat on the side of her hand similar to what that Cheryl Cole one has.

I dont have any but if I do ever, and I may, it will be of meaning, thats why I haven't got one yet, waiting for something inspirational and different :D

My sig is currently in pole position

I love the Celtic stuff i have to say, it makes a lot more sense to me as an Irish person to see that kind of thing getting tattooed on folk rather than elements of cultures they have no part of, like the thing for oriental characters meaning "strength" and stuff like that.

When i end up getting work done i would say most of my stuff will center around Celtic designs...no gold though...i ****ing hate gold.

Tattoos are tacky and IMO the mark of a knacker.
