Seriously feels like Xmas Eve today.

Hoping the draw is somewhere close too!

They are dividing up the 2nd Qual round into groups. Anyone know if it is regional or on seeding?

After a quick look at the seedings, I think we could end up with some nightmare trips including Azerbaijan if its divided up by seeding.

Don't fancy a trip to Lankaran - zoom out to see how far away it is, 20 miles from the Iranian border.

    http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=38.753611,48.851111&spn=0.1,0.1&t=m&q=38.753611,48.851111

The Champions League draw seemed to have been a mixture of seeding and trying to match local teams together aswell, fingers crossed anyway.

Is the first round being divided too? They usually just divide the teams up into random groups of 5 seeded and 5 unseeded for the draw I think.

Is the first round being divided too? They usually just divide the teams up into random groups of 5 seeded and 5 unseeded for the draw I think.
For the first qualifying round equal numbers of seeded and unseeded teams will be allocated to five groups of ten in accordance with rankings established at the beginning of the season. For each group, balls containing seeded teams will be placed in one bowl and unseeded teams in another. A ball from each will be placed in a large empty bowl in the middle, and the first team drawn will play its first match at home. Clubs from the same association cannot be drawn against each other.

The 80 teams involved in the second qualifying round are divided into eight groups of ten, each containing five seeded and five unseeded teams. The draw follows the same procedure as the first qualifying round, with the groupings to be confirmed after the draw for the first qualifying round.

So yeah, by the looks of it the First Round is based off European ranking, while the second one is just random? Or perhaps the same as the first one. Will find out tomorrow anyway.

    That we will.

I'll be gutted if both the trips are to dodgy places. Need one European Trip!

Just realised I'll be away on the 21st for the 2nd leg, bah.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Pats fans, according to their site the game is being played in Vodafonevellinum.

    http://ibvsport.is/frettir/2011/06/20/ibv_drost_gegn_st_patrick%E2%80%99s_athletic_football_club

I can't find a venue with that name, but this seems to be the closest:

Oddly enough they played each other last year in the Europa League qualifiers. Siroki Brijeg won 5-0 on aggregate.

Nightmare draw for us, going to cost the club a fortune to get out there. The Bosnians look a decent team and only narrowly lost to Austria Wien last season. And their fans are mental!

Bohs pretty much certain to get the Bosnian team. Going to be a hard match and hard to get to.

That Olimpija fan and the Serbian Bohs fan both said the Slovenians had a better team this year than the Bosnians. We will see anyway.

Slovenia is a nice country stay in Lake Bled, lovely spot and check out the George Best bar.

That Lake Bled place looks class, although, we'd be playing miles away down in Koper!

RE Pats: I would say that the game will be played in Reykjavik. ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar are actually situated on islands off the coast of Iceland.
The islands are named are Irish people because they were kidnapped by
the Scots and brought to Iceland. The name means Westman islands in English.
I went for a cork City match a few years ago and I had a great time.
Iceland is incredible. If you can see a bit more of the country make time and hire a car..

The following year I came back for two weeks. Best trip I ever had.

With Regards to Bohs its easy to get to Slovenia and fairly easy to get to Bosnia
Bosnia - (just fly to Dubrovnik in Croatia and get the bus to Bosnia).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,969 ✭✭✭antomorro-sei

Yeah man, the game has been moved to Reykjavik already!

I won't be going though, flights cost too much for me anyway!

It was a pity to see Pat's lose away last Thursday, hopefully they will be able to bounce back in the return leg this week.
