Good game so far, nice football.

Some fantastic points- Mark Lynch and Jamie Clarke both scored really nice ones.

Is it my TV or are the armagh jerseys more red than Orange?

Same reddish colour they've always been to my eyes.

Gotta wonder how that could've been a yellow card, if it was a deliberate kick in the face surely it has to be a red, if it was accidental then why would any action be taken?

    Yeah, that's what I thought.

Wasn't deliberate imo. Harsh to give him a yellow

Eoin Bradley is pure class when he's on form, very stylish player...and he's on form today. That last point was a beauty.

And I was just about to say Lynch is impressive today and that was a fantastic finish. Derry look good. Great build-up play.

Hearty's a fine keeper too. Possibly the best around.

Goal for Derry. Fantastic game so far. Some unbelievable scores from both sides.

Derry are certainly fired up. Armagh no score for 15 minutes!

ht Derry 1-08 v Armagh 0-06 good game of ball so far. Derry forwards playing with great confidence but I would imagine they could see a red in the second half - alot of yellows banded about in the first half.

Bradley at full forward is causing havoc. Armagh being cleaned out at midfield also

Some start for Armagh and a nice goal aswel. Shaping up for a good second half

Great goal from Armagh and a really good response from Derry, fine point.

Setting up to be a cracker of a second half.

    Decent response from Derry.

On a side point, this game should never had been played in Clones.

bookings adding up now, I hope a late tackle or something doesn't lead to a red as it will change the game for the worse I think.

two poor misses by both teams there

It seems a very open game for the Ulster championship.

Looks like its Derry's to loose at this stage.

Rocket of a goal by Derry...... seconds after Armagh came very close to getting one of their own!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Another cracking goal from Derry, Gilligan this time.

And McDonnell would have scored that goal a couple of years ago, I think.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 260 ✭✭Indie.

Some turnaround there. Armagh miss a great goal chance. Derry go on the counter attack and get their third goal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,924 ✭✭✭Brian017

A Cracking finish from Gilligan. A 6 point swing!

COMON MAN! HOW DID IT GO!!!!!

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 11,521 Mod ✭✭✭✭Hammer Archer

Hmmm. The Armagh number 2 seemed to strike bradley in the chest there. The way the referees have been performing the last few weeks surely that was a red.

11 years since their last Ulster final - they will be very hard to beat!

Good lord. Only 2 teams have won the Ulster championship since 1998? That's shocking.

Joe Brolly sounds like he's had a shandy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,952 ✭✭✭✭Stoner

Not a bad game, but why oh why do we have to watch and Listen to Brolly big up his team, he sould not be on for his county games, It's unfair.

Didn't he back Armagh before the game?.And how is it unfair?

BBC2 NI is far superior for coverage.

Stevie MacDonnells goal miss that time was crucial. Had he scored that I think Armagh would have won. Instead Derry broke and went up the field and wrapped up the game.

Gave Bradley a criminal amount of space. Derry packed the defense and once any Armagh attack broke down they booted it to Bradley and he was lethal.

The Down form hasn't exactly stood up now.

But they don't have Brolly talking french and Spillane talking Latin.

Have to say that was a great display of football from Derry. That new manager has them playing a great style of football with a huge work ethic from his players.
What most impressed me was there kick passing which was some of the best i have seen in a long time. Eoin Bradley was unreal in that game too and looked unplayable today.
That first Derry goal was top quality aswell.

They actually try and play an open game, obviously today they had to be cautious, the talent is there all they need is the consistency.

Bradley and Gilligan scored 2-3 from play and created most of the frees they knocked over also. I'm shocked that armagh kept trying to play these guys 1-on-1 today.

Tyrone have shown little form this year and unless they improve alot I can see Derry winning the Ulster title, I actually wouldn't be surprised to see Donegal giving Tyrone a run for their money and I expect Derry to be the dark horse that Down was last year, and Down themselves may re-spark yet through the back door.
