    Indeed.
Sadly given her track record, its was only a matter of time before she sunk again into old ways.
    Sad pity.

She's got loads of talent and is just squandering it. I fear she's never going to be back to what she used to be. It's such a shame that such a great voice is going to go to waste.

Interesting that the quality of her performance remains the same, whether sober of drunk...

What a waste of money paying to see that.

This is normally the main reason why it grows to such an issue....as long as it doesn't affect the money coming in the artist themselves won't give a **** and any label and management people won't be concerned enough to actually do anything about it for fear or developing issues with the artists.

Still, remember the day you need to have acheived something before turning into a junkie? Then auld Winehouse and Doherty show up and the came changes....famous for being ****ed up.

Still, at least Winehouse has some talent, Doherty is just a useless ****.

True, I reckon they should have been shot along time ago, as much as she had a unique voice, I hate to say it but I don't care about her and her drug abuse, its just got to a point where no one cares I think

In fairness, the "famous for being f*cked up" thing was around before them. I think Winehouse has a lot of talent, and it's a real shame that she's letting it go to waste like this. She can easily out-sing most of the singers (male or female) in the music industry right now when she's on the ball. Back in the day she was genuinely one of the best female musicians out there. However, I think you're right about record companies and management. She's probably surrounded by 'yes' men who just let her do whatever she wants. Unfortunately being a drunken, drugged-up mess has become part of the Winehouse image, just like it did with most musicians in the past (think Joplin or Jim Morrison, they became famous for being fools too towards the end of their lives). Management and record companies make money off this image, it's not in their interests to make her pull herself together when the world has come to know her as behaving in a certain way.

    Winehouse booed on European tour
Amy Winehouse has reportedly been booed and jeered at a concert in Serbia's capital that kicked off her European tour.

Serbian media described the performance on Saturday night at Belgrade's fortress before some 20,000 fans as a "scandal" and a "disaster".

Media reported the singer was an hour late, before stumbling to the stage and mumbling through her songs. She occasionally disappeared, and her band playing instead.

The crowd responded angrily. Tickets cost about £35 - very expensive in the country where average salaries are about £264 a month.

Amy recently spent a week at a rehab programme in London. Her 2006's Back to Black, won her five Grammy Awards, but her music has been overshadowed by drug use and run-ins with the law.

A week at rehab is nothing, especially as it's very possible to get drugs in rehab centers lol.

She has incredible talent but she might end up like Janis Joplin the way she's going

On the plus side, her musicians and the the dancers did well, carrying on like nothing went wrong. True professionals

This druggie/alco/idiot still getting gigs on the strength of having a decent selling 30 odd minute long album in 2006?*

At this stage all she is famous for is her alcohol/drug abuse

*yes I know she released an album in 2003 as well.

Was half-hoping she'd fall off stage. Would have made it interesting atleast. Sad to see someone in that state infront of 20,000 odd fans but that's the risk you take.

Hit the nail on the head there.

She could have been the biggest female solo singer in the world for the
    next 20 years.

At the start of the last decade the market was wide open for a blue-eyed soul
sensation a-lá Dusty Springfield - a role-model for feisty, independent women who
    weren't into Madonna or Britney.

People who liked "soul" music but didn't really know what it was.
Retro-chic, having vinyl records and maybe an old bicycle in your flat,
even though you didn't have a record player.

But that didn't matter, they looked smooth beside the Lonely Planet guides
and those knick-knacks you picked up in Thailand.

Would it be Duffy? Adele? Amy McDonald? KT Tunstall?

Amy Winehouse was in the right place at the right time but got too fond of the
Class A drugs and binge drinking.

The bad-girl image she was cultivating was ok on her songs like Rehab,
but then life started imitating art, and like Whitney Houston and Shaun Ryder,
she became know for her antics and not her music.

I'd love to see her pull it together but I doubt it will happen at this stage.

If Adele's people stopped counting the money they're making I'm sure they'd
spare Amy a thought, then again maybe not - these fresh bundles of
dollars from Australasia and Latin America aren't going to count themselves.

There is a slight chance that it might be called off.
Her management is supposed to be giving a statement this afternoon.
No doubt they will try some stronger arm tactics to try and keep her under control and the rest of her concert dates on.
However, don't be very surprised if she slips up again - and there is only so much even companies and management teams will take too.

On the small chance things go belly-up, I hope you bought your tickets with a credit card, just in case there is difficulty getting refunded via the actual sellers.

what about the rest of them...

Of course no one wants to see it, and her management have an awful lot to answer for for letting her go on tour in the first place if they knew she was not in the right frame of mind to be on tour.

However, the only reason everyone is so outraged by someone like Amy Winehouse is because it's happening right in front of their eyes. We can see it anywhere now - YouTube, camera phones, tabloids, they all make it much more accessible. We can see someone having a nervous breakdown, or battling drug and alcohol addictions live, as it's happening. That's something that past generations singers could escape, luckily for them. When Jim Morrison was f*cked at Doors gigs, it wasn't all up in everyone's faces, splashed across sh*tty tabloids or numerous videos of it across the internet. The nature of the media has changed, it's at the point where we can practically see anything we want, whenever we want. There is no privacy or anything like that anymore for people in the public eye. When David Bowie was off his tits nobody said anything because it wasn't in everyone's living room, for everyone to see.

Not excusing her behaviour, it's disgraceful and those people deserve a refund for that "performance", but this isn't the first time this has happened. She's not the first musician to ever have drug problem and f*ck up onstage, the only difference is that now, the whole world can see it within hours of it happening. Never before has it been so easy to see someone fall apart in such a public way. It's something we're not used to seeing, but it happens. Drug addicts exist in real life, who'd have thunk it??

    * So what if others have done similar before - that don't make it right and it don't make it right too that they put others livelihood at risk too!
Its just stupidity in this era of economic uncertainty. Its selfishness and stupidity.

    * Who cares what they demand in their room - someone is being employed to supply it!

    * Yes, it IS that bad - especially for those that are also working the tour and could be out of an assisting job as a moments cancellation notice because one stupid drunken bittch decides to fcuk everything up!

All the people that are working around her have bills, homes to keep and kids to possibly feed.
Or do they not count in the whole wider picture!

I would say to the manager, give you stars only so many chances but if they continue to fcuk up, dump their ass.
Move on and work with someone better! They are effecting your overall income with inconsistency, making you a legal liability (in this day of people rushing to court) and do your working reputation no good.

I dont believe you know what your talking about....

Actually I know you don't if you want to lecture me on moral ethics go right ahead but to break into an industry and start lectureing me on facts that you know nothing about well thats just plain... its kinda like when coyoytte chase's road runner and run s out of a cliff and realises hes running on nothing but thin air......

your only high ground is ethics...

How ever yes i do simpathise with the fans but ffs what you expect her track record anit exactly shiney bye any means but sure....

    Its a risk you take.,..

*Heres one for you I know a buisness man very sucessfull a irish bank tuck money out of his account once with out permission he had to spend 3 hours of his time sorting out there mess...

You know what he invoiced them for it and they payed...

Now do you really belive that the roadies etc wouldn't be payed because of the main attraction not doing her job well then your even more foolish then i expect.

Gee, you like to go off on one!

Actually here's one back at you.
Having worked with some of these people in the past, I know exactly what I'm talking about but you continue going off on one.

These inconsiderate fcukwits that effect others peoples earnings, are just pure selfish for the sake of feeding their own habits.
    End of story.

Others that end up working such tours take out loans (subsequently), relax a bit and drop some stresses due to the fact that they might be working again.
If some are lucky enough to be paid a redundancy fee, its never the full amount of which they might have banked on and/or made plans around.

If Winehouse wants to do what she is doing, she should have at least the consideration not to drag all around her into her self-made chaos.
..Then again, she isn't thinking of them - she's only thinking of herself. Fact.

    P.S.
    1. I wasn't lecturing you on anything.
    2. My grounds is purely economic ones.
