Target Mass Increase When Bulking

    Hi,

Having cut my bodyweight by about 1.5 stone (and bodyfat by more as I'm more muscular now), I went on my first bulk a few weeks back.

My original intention was to add about 1lb per week of which I would hope that half would be muscle.

Obviously, everybody is different and my original intention was based on what I have read, not experienced.

I've just weighed myself having weighed in at 163lbs 2 weeks ago. I now weight 166lbs - so a 3lbs increase in 2 weeks.

Therefore, I'm 1lb ahead of where I'd intended to be but I'm not worried about it. I'll only drop back the calories a little if I gain in excess of 8lbs in a month.

How much bodyweight increase do you normally target when bulking and, in general, how long do you spend on the bulk and subsequent cut.
