Should be competitive enough but I think Tipp will pull away in the second half to win by about 10 pts.

I presume they will be selling tickets on match day? As for the match i think Clare will put up a strong fight for 45/50 mins but for Tipp to pull away in the end.

    Very strong Tipp team.

I think Clare will still be in it with 15 minutes to go but Tipp will win by 6 or more in the end. That forward line is just too good. Clare are slightly underrated imo. John Conlon is a fine player, Honan has potential to destroy any defender if he's on his game.

Jaysus lads, im loving your optimism as regards us being in the match for 40/50 minutes. I really fear we could be beaten a point a man. Our full back line was destroyed by Limerick so imagine what the likes of Kelly,Corbett and McGrath will do against us. No doubt that if we can get continious quality ball into McGrath and Honan they will get goal chances and we will need 2/3 goals if we stand any chance of pulling off an upset.

And what makes the match worse, i will have to watch it on TV3 with those useless commentators

As a Tipperary man i dont expect it to be as one sided as people suggest. Dont forget Clare with an even more inexperienced team could have won this in 2009. Tipp will have to play to their full potential to win. Any complacency and we could be headed for the back door.

Watch it on the tv, but turn down the volume. Use a radio and then listen to the commentary from Clare FM or Newstalk (or whichever national radio station is commentating on it).

Tipp should win this match at their ease. Clare are still going through a major re-building phase and the last thing you want to do when re-building is meeting the AI champs who already have a game under their belt.

Tipp to win by about 10 points.

Clare Hurling Team v Tipperary Munster Hurling Championship 2011-06-19.

    1. Philip Brennan
    2. Pat Vaughan (capt)
    3. Conor Cooney
    4. Cian Dillon
    5. Patrick O Connor
    6. James McInerney
    7. Patrick Donnellan
    8. Nicky O Connell
    9. Jonothan Clancy
    10. John Conlon
    11. Fergal Lynch
    12. Cathal McInerney
    13. Diarmuid McMahon
    14. Darach Honan
    15. Conor McGrath

    16. Donal Touhy
    17. Eamon Glynn
    18. Mark Earley
    19. Brendan Bugler
    20. Cathal Chaplin
    21. Gerry Quinn
    22. Sean Collins
    23. Colin Ryan
    24. Liam Markham
    25. Camin Morey
    26. Cormac O Donnovan

doesnt great now to be honest James McInerney at 6 , do not think he is suited to that position think he should be chanced at full back too slow for the center.

Hard to know where the scores are going to come from. C McInerney will prob play as an extra man back.

It beggers belief that gerry quinn is still on the panel if, why is he on the panel if he is never going to play a game.

Would agree with your points about Jame Mac and Gerry Quinn. Really thought Bugler would be the starting center back. He is the most natural in that position we have on the panel. Dillon in the corner is also a worry. Think McInerney will have to stay in the forwards. He is well able to take a score and thats where he needs to be.

While on all known form lines and looking at the respective line-ups the obvious result is a reasonably comfortable win for Tipp, but this Tipp team, with the obvious exception of Limerick in '09, has always struggled to win easy and with everyone talking about a Tipp/Waterford munster final Clare will be well up for this, its kind of a no win situation for Tipp and thats what worrys me.

With regards the Tipp team, i cant believe John O'Keaffe was the wing back dropped instead of Young. Thought Young had a torrid time versus Cork while O'Keaffe came out well on his debut.

Look a little closer Lucky, O'Keefe has been moved to corner back to replace the injured Paddy Stapelton.

oops :p anyway, hearing a few things round the gaa circles of Clare. Bugler will start instead of dillon with James Mac moving to full back and Cooney to corner-back.

And the word in Tipp is that John o'Brien and Gearoid Ryan are far from certain to start but struggling to make it, James Woodlock and either Shane or Pa Bourke would be the obvious replacements.

yee could play with 13 players and still be comfortable against us :p

it will be closer than you think ,if Clare come out in the right frame of mind anything can happen, its championship after all.

They have great promise this team, but yes tipp should win by around 4 points

While I expect Tipp to win tomorrow I'm sure Clare will give them a right rattle for 50-55 minutes before the experience of Tipp will tell IMO.

The future of hurling in the banner county is very bright with the under 21's winning the All Ireland 2 years ago and the minors very unlucky in last year's final and it wouldn't surprise me 1 bit if the banner county will win an All Ireland senior title in the next decade.

It's comments like this that shatter morale in the County.

I've no doubt we'll put it up to Tipp.

    Cmon the BANNER!

they might, if it was played in USA or Oz, cos that's where some fine promising youngsters from this parish are now playing

If its only 4 points Id be delighted.I dont think anyone knows what to expect from Clare on the day.Anything could happen.Bad or good. We'll wait and see. I dont think Clare will be annihalated though. In 2-3 years Clare will have a serious team.

Fairly confident we can do it, Limerick's performance last weekend will have warned Tipp that Clare are not fair off their level. I still expect us to win, the qualifiers have a few big teams in it and i'm sure declan and the team want to go through the front door. Good luck to both teams, hoping for a good match.

I think Tipp will have a bit too much for Clare. This Clare team has the makings of a decent team in a few years if the minors etc can come through at all but, even though Tipp didn't exactly set the world alight against Cork, I think they'll be too good.

Working a 12 hour shift tonight so will have to get myself up out of the bed for this one.

That's sad to hear that Clare have lost some of their fine young talent to the curse of emigration. Still I reckon there's great hope for Clare in the near future.

Sure thats the same with every county!

Really fancy Tipp for this. ID expect Clare to really put it up to us for the first 50 minutes or so but Tipp will eventually take over.

Too much scoring power in the tipp team to see them lose today, Id fancy Tipp by 7 or 8 points.

Great start from Clare. They are really up for this. Was thinking an 8 or 10 point win for Tipp, but even this early that looks unlikely now.

What a point from Lynch. Cracking stuff.
