LOL! at the crazy meal combinations.

    Almonds, chicken and oatmeal anyone?

    Almonds, eggs and salmon?

Other than that It's a little low fat for my tastes, but it's quite unprocessed would get there if you could stick to it. It's pretty high in protein, so that'll probably keep you full, at least for a few months.

It does go heavy on the omega 6 once the cals get over 2,000 though.

Wouldn't be my cup of tea!:)

there's another thread on this in the health and fitness forum i think, a few were looking at it alright. the developer himself was on there.
it's a pretty cool site and you can customise it for whatever your needs are. some of the combinations however can be a little strange...

IIRC the only reason that butter is there is that I commented on its absence on that other thread:D

You've got to the love the effort put in to it but at the same time when I last looked at it, it wasn't exactly correct. Like when you selected 'The Perfect Health Diet' some of the options included whole grain pasta, brown rice and oatmeal:confused: Then for 'The Paleo Diet' you got a choice of a whole load of legumes and no fruit! Plus where are all the vegetables gone???

Oh durr, I didn't realise you could customise the macros!

The presets make no difference though, tofu on the PHD? I don't think so.

OOPS i didnt see that. Its a great idea, i must say. If it was tweaked a little to give you combinations that people would be used to having. I might give it ago over the next few days and see how it goes.

all meals allow for inclusion of green veg, starchy veg are in the food lists.

There are only so many foods you can include.

the deit options are basically the correct macro splits and a rough guide to the food types. If you cared that much about being true to a concept of a diet, then you are free to edit food choices.

yup, custom macros is a huge part of it. Pretty handy way to come up with a 400 cal meal to suit for macros when stuck at work example.

As above, edit foods out if they shouldn't be there 9its still in progress so I don't expect every preset is perfect.
i've no idea what the perfect health diet is exactly, but i imagine that the odd bit of tofa isn't an issue

It is on the perfect health diet. As far as I can see the presets don't make any difference at all to the food choices.

You misunderstand me, i'm sure the PHD has some concrete guidelines. And i took it from your comments that tofu is no go.

My point was that the guidelines are simple that, if you eat tofu, it's not going to suddenly ruin all the benefit from the rest of the diet. I'd even say that it would have no effect (assuming reasonable consumption)

The presets slightly change the food choices, for example, click select all and hit a preset.
It's only new, and was a side project for the creator to test some stuff. The food choices aren't refined, and like i said if you care that much its simple to change it.

But it's not a piece of tofu here and there, the entire diet bears no resemblance to the PHD whatsoever. I find it odd that he included it when it doesn't even know what the diet entails, 90% of the food that came up was unsuitable (Pasta, oats, skimmed milk to name a few)

I know it's a WIP but I'd advise putting in a bit more work before releasing features that don't work at all.

With a bit of work I can see this being extremely handy

It was just a test site to try out some coding. The guy stated that.
There is feedback link where people can submit suggestions, I imagine correcting the PHD would be perfect.

Submitting feedback would be far more useful than complaining about such a minor issue here.
You come accross as quite negative and moany. I personall think its a great tool. i couldn't care less about a silly label like PHD. I know what foods i like, I know my goal macros. I can defo see the use in the tool. FYI I think the meals are a bit random, and I'm happy enough to sticj with my own dinners. But it's good for snacks and mix and match type lunches imo

Ehh, you come across as the person who developed the thing, very defensive.

Why would I bother going to the effort of doing someone else's work for them? I made a very valid critism, the developer could perceive it as moaning, or they could fix it. I've worked in software development, and if they wants this to succeed in the market place, they'd need to do an awful lot more work to get it up to scratch (that is if the end goal is to make money). If it's a personal project type thing then fair play.

The actual developer already posted on boards, as was mentioned above. so your first comment is stupid.

You worked in software, yet you don't see the point of feedback? It would be a lot less effort than the posts you made here.

If it was a commercial service of course I'd agree with you. But its not. He isn't making money, didn't sound like he planned to either, but you never know. For a free service, that is helpful to all the clueless people out there, i think your being far too critical

Yes, I know the developer posted on here, I've read the thread but thanks for the reminder.

Normally in properly developed software, even in beta testing, you don't release features that don't work at all. It's a valid critism but you really seem to be very upset about it for some reason.

Welcome to the internet, people have opinions here. :D

I just think you are coming accross and whinging and moaning for no reason.
Look at all the diet threads in this forum and in fitness. There are so many people out there that are clueless about what to eat.

Very often people come on here and post and say their diet is fine, they eat lots of protein and low carb. But when they actually post it up, the diet is crap. The above website will help those clueless people understand what low carb actually is, and what high protein actually is.

Which is why I think you are being way too hard on it. I never said it was perfect. If somebody was anal about their marcos and food types then its not going to be usefull for them, but I wouldn't expect it to be
