I was driving to Nenagh today when i got pulled by the guards. My car was in a garage the last 2 weeks gettin work done on it and i only got it back yesterday, anyway i was driving fast along a winding backroads...It was sunny,i had my radio blaring and was happy to have my car back.I noticed a red modeo behind me but it only had 1 aerial and 4 lads in it so didnt think it could be the cops. The road opened up into a main road and i put my foot down as the road was clear ahead. The mondeo was keepin up with me so i thought he was racing me and went faster(i dont normally drive like this or race but i was just dilighted to have my car again),after about 500 yards i was doin 90mph in a 100k zone.I looked in my mirror only to see flashing blue lights on the mondeos headlights and nearly **** myself as i have no tax or nct.

I pulled in and the guard came up to my window and checked my discs, turns out my insurance disc was also missing.I am insured but took my disc out a few weeks ago to check something and never put it back.He eat the crap out of me for not having tax, insurance or nct and for going way to fast.I told him i was insured but my disc was at home,he then asked for my license which i had thank god but it's only a provisional."Where are your L plates?".... i dont have them i said.I was just waiting for him to tell me to get out of the car so he could take it off me.

He gave me a good talking to and i felt like i was gettin given out to in primary school again.... rightly so i supose! I took it all on the chin and didnt say anything except "sorry guard" once or twice. He told me he was a garda driving instructor training the 3 lads in the mondeo and if he wasnt training them he would have taken the car off me,he also told me not to move the car until i got somebody with a full license in the car with me,i asked him was i getting a fine and he said "you certainly might!"(doesnt make sense!) and walked back to his car and drove off.

I cant believe my luck!...i mean i was pulled doing 140 k in a 100k zone with no tax, insurance disc, nct,no L plates and no full license driver with me.I dont think i'l hear any more about it(fingers crossed) as he took no details at all, unless one of the other guards in the mondeo got my reg.

Just thought id put this up to see what people say.....i hope i dont jinx meself by posting this!! :D

Feel good story of the day, i look forward to the time a guard lets me off. Be glad of it and learn your lesson.
But seriously, racing?? Again, hope lesson learnt, you were lucky.

Does an instructor have the same "power" as a normal garda? Would writing tickets be still in his resume?

His name is JimBob, so I expect it's a Dodge Charger called General Lee.
You were pulled over by Sheriff Roscoe P Coltrane.

Please update us when you get the points, tickets and summons.

    Thats when the lulz start.

He spent the latter half of his shift showing the newbies how to write tickets, they'd have got to do one each

I'd expect a summons to court. All he has to do is remember your name and reg. Hardly rocket science.

Which, the fiesta or the Lexus? Slightly asking for it posting all this Jim Bob, prolly better to breath a quiet sigh of relief and start looking for bits of paper. A driving licence would be a good start. I reckon the Guard was a cnut though, cos he will probably do some poor sod up to the eyes for somthing minor tomorrow, leaving you to laugh it up.

I used to drive a 98 Fiesta and traded it in for a toaster.

    Actually I didn't. I don't drive. Ask me bollix.

Toaster probably has a bit more poke in it than the fucking fiesta I used to drive. 0-60 in about 2mins! VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!
