There is no best way to eat

    Ok this is going to sound very controversial and Im not necessarily agreeing with it but its something I've read on a very interesting website that Im reading articles from and I would like peoples opinion.

    Basically there is no specific healthy way to eat or lose weight, you've got so many diets,among them are

    Atkins
    Zone
    Low carb
    bodyforlife
    High carb
    Weight watchers
    paleo
    40/40/20 diet
    keto
    Blood type diet
    Low GI

    And guess what, all of these so very different diets have success stories, all of these diets have worked for people that have applied them, because they all follow one very basic rule,which is with each and every one of them there is a calorie restriction , the fundamental rule with regards fatloss is you have to be in a calorie deficit to loss fat, way beyond any of the other stuff like Low gi, meal timing,low carb etc

    When ever someone comments or gives advice to a person that's out of shape, they usually say things like you need to start exercising and eat healthier, you must start eating this this and this, and stop eating this that and this, well at the end of the day its not so much what your eating that causes a person to be overweight but how much a person eats, if a person eats donuts, pizzas,sweets and drinks beer BUT comes in at a calorie deficit you wont gain fat.

    Most people will say but those foods aren't healthy, what's not healthy is the calorie load one can build with those foods not so much the food itself and the persons current condition(ie obesity itself)

    I think its so much more sustainable to ask someone to just eat a little less of what they are currently eating instead of completely changing there whole lifestyle and giving them a whole load of rules

    For example with the documentary super size me , its not so much the fact he was eating macdonalds everyday that caused him to get fat and unhealthy, it was the actual calorie load he was consuming of this food that was the unhealthy part

    But the BIG question is why would you tend to eat more if you comprise your diet of McDonalds?

    You're right though, all diets do tend to work if you stick to them (but not due to conscious calorie restriction, most say eat as much as your hunger dictates, ala atkins). They all lead you away from hyper-palatable processed food which leads you to over eat.

    Problem is most people cannot stick to diets. You have to wonder why that is.

    This is not exactly true.

    Due to the high fat content of all these fast foods and processed foods people take in a large amount of calories without realising it. Asking them to cut this down to a calorie deficit would be nearly impossible as you'd probably eat half a burger before you've gone over your calorie limit.

    It would be much easier to eat more healthy foods and feel more satiated. Eating wholegrain rice would make you feel much fuller than eating a bag of crisps making the whole dieting process easier.

    Also if you eat too much processed stuff it won't be long before you are malnourished, as this stuff is not nutritious. If you don't eat too much and you eat the wrong stuff, even if you dont reach your daily calories allowance, you will wind up malnourished too.
