Aircoach from Drumcondra Station to Airport

Has anyone picked up the Aircoach from Drumcondra Station? Is the bus stop at Drumcondra obvious?

Going on the Aircoach website it looks like the buses should be very frequent, like no more than 5 or 10 minutes apart in the middle of the day, as both the Leopardstown and Ballsbridge routes pass Drumcondra?

Normally about every 10-15 mins I'd say, same stop as the Dublin Bus stop basically, there's a Bus Eireann stop there as well, right outside the train station.

16a/41 to the airport also from there if you need a cheaper option, although the 16A goes via Beaumont and Santry, whilst the 41 goes via Santry rather than the motorway, Would say the 16A is 15 minutes slower than Aircoach at worse with 41 being 10 minutes at worst.

Is the aircoach the same price from Drumcondra as it is from the city..?if so you would be mad to pay 8 euro to be 10min faster than a 41.

Anyone know the fare on the 41 or 16A?

Aircoach is €7 from Drumcondra to the Airport.

In reality I'll probably get the first bus that comes along.

    I think its 1.85.

Even tho the 16A and 41 are regular, both around every 20 mins, I don't see either showing up on the RTPI for the stop outside Drumcondra Stn?

I have an app for the realtime info. on my Android phone, all my favourite stops are coming up blank so I'd say the system is down or at least the link to the Internet is, try again tomorrow or later tonight.

I'd have thought a taxi would cost at least €18. It would only be cheaper if the OP is travelling with 2 or more people.

It is the best app on my android, I can now see when the bus will arrive at my local stop and time when I leave my house accordingly, I now never spend more than 3 minutes standing at the stop.

It's as good as you're going to get until they make an API available, it's a screen scraper app called 'Next Bus Dublin', it's in the Android Market, developer name is Stephen McBride.

The best way to set it up after you install it is to go to www.rtpi.ie and find the numbers of your favourite stops, then for each stop put the number into the app on the Android (you don't need to type leading zeros) and save it with a meaningful name.

From Drumcondra, I'd say he means.

Normal service has been resumed, the 16 and 41A are listed for that stop.

taxi regulator site gives fare between €13 and €18 depending on traffic from drumcondra station to the Terminal building, this is with no passengers and not at a premium time and with no booking so it is a lot more expensive.

I don't think Aircoach are allowed pick up passengers on the north side of the city.

As far as I know, opposite the Gresham Hotel is the last collection point for going to the airport.

It would be an idea to check the Aircoach website before posting inaccurate information such as this.

As per below from the Aircoach website they clearly do pick up in Drumcondra:
Dublin City Centre – Dublin Airport services
Aircoach offers fast and frequent services from Ballsbridge / Donnybrook and Leopardstown / Sandyford, through Dublin City Centre, to Dublin Airport.
The Leopardstown / Sandyford service proceeds from Leopardstown, through Sandyford and Stillorgan Village to the Stillorgan Road (N11) then along Morehampton Road to Donnybrook Junction where the route meets the Ballsbridge / Donnybrook service

From the point that both services meet, they both pick-up passengers bound for Dublin Airport from:
Donnybrook Road – Old Wesley RFC
Hampton Hotel – formerly Sach’s Hotel
Leeson Street Upper – opposite Burlington Hotel
Leeson Street Upper – near canal
Leeson Street Lower – Stephens Hall Hotel
Dawson Street – Pink Shirt Shop
Suffolk Street (City Centre) – McCullough Pigott
Westmoreland Street (City Centre) – Boyle Sports Shop
O’Connell Street (City Centre) – opposite Gresham Hotel
Drumcondra – by DART station & Quinns Pub

Dublin Bus fare on routes 16a and 41 is indeed €1.85, while Aircoach is €7.

First bus that came along in the end was the 16A.

But my god is it slow! Took about 40 minutes and it wasn't traffic that seemed to be holding it up... every single traffic light en route seemed to be red.
