I'm currently using optimum nutrition whey powder gold standard but as it's quite expensive I was looking at this product

    http://www.myprotein.com/ie/products/impact_whey_protein

I try to eat as much solid food as possible so I only use it prior to a work out. Is the fat content in this product similar?

    Cheers for your help

take the above advice with a pinch of salt :) myProtein are the largest online sports nutrition website in the UK - and for a reason.

the reason there's no isolate in their whey concentrate is that it's a standard whey, not a blend. They have a few different blends as well and a pure isolate but the standard whet concEntrate is suitable for most peoples purposes - if u want it to digest slower at, for example, nightime, take some good fats such as peanut butter with it.

I've lost some weight in the last 6 months in order to lose fat so now I'm looking to bulk up a bit and hoping to put on as little fat as possible

then you do not need to worry about fat so long as they are good fats - these are going to be essential for many of the processes needed to build muscle and maintain optimal hormone levels e.g. testosterone and GH

For good fats I've been going with Almonds and peanut butter.

I just don't want to buy whey powder that has a lot of sugar of bad fats in it.

On a side note has anyone tried the toasted flaked almonds in Dunnes, they're so nice!

not sure wtf you on about neither myprotein or gold standard have high sugar or fat and the best time to take the shake is after your workout not before as you said on first post - I only use it prior to a work out

That's what I wanted to know, whether myprotein has much fat or sugar.

Due to work it's not very easy to get something to eat before I could to the gym which means there would be a 4 hour gap between lunch and when I start my workout therefore I drink it before my workout.

    Does that make sense now?
