Modship of random forum

A mad idea popped into my head: what would you do if you were asked to be a mod of some random forum here that you either didn't have a clue about, or you didn't like?

Would you become a mod for it, or not? For example... fashion? :pac:

I'd go for it. In Boards, first you get thanks, then you get the mod status, then you get the women.

Or in other words

1) Mod status
2) ?
3) Women/Profit

I think you have to be fairly knowledgable about a forum before they'll make you a mod. I think you have to be a regular contributor, don't you?

That's what I thought too, but it doesn't happen like that. I haven't had any women since I became a Mod

When I was younger, I posted on a gaming forum a lot. I really, really wanted to be a mod for some reason.

Then I grew up and you'd have to pay me to be a mod . At least that other message board was small and didn't make any profit. Boards.ie is a company that makes money

So.. no I wouldn't be a mod of any random forum or a non-random one.

Honestly can't understand why someone would want the hassle. Maybe a small and focused forum with a decent community could be decent, but modding something like After Hours or Soccer? It'd be like an unpaid second job.

I'd mod the "fuck a mod" forum, but outside that I don't see the upside to it really. It's time consuming and thankless and you certainly can't put it on your CV.

I think this happens anyway. One of the people who were made a mod after two other mods left I personally have never seen him comment in the forum.
