Why be a rent boy?

Im after becoming kinda friends with a guy from the net, he a nice guy and have had a few nights out as mates, he about 20 and goes to college, quite a smart guy and good looking, gets lots of attention when he goes out and a fun guy.

But I cant understand why he gets a trill from being a rent boy, he is mad for going to sauna and getting clients of all sorts older, younger anything really. He is mad to go group parties getting f***** by whole party group. Well you get the picture he says he does it for money to help him through college but he got a good part-time job, and I think some of his clients get away without paying, so I think he gets a thrill from it, has anyone heard of this kinda guy before? I keep telling him of the dangers, but he is always safe he say...

    People like different things.

That's pretty much it. Some people like the idea of screwing loads of people at once, some people love sucking toes, some people get their jollies by masturbating to Elton John songs. It takes all sorts to make the world go round, and so long as he is safe, and knows the risks, it's really up to him. Obviously he is breaking the law if he's soliciting money, so that's something he needs to stay aware of, and a conviction for prostitution would really screw up his job prospects in the long run from whatever he's studying in college, but other than that...

Assuming he's in Ireland, then he is doing nothing against the law - prostitution isn't actually illegal, you're just not allowed to advertise it openly.

Like zoegh said - people like different things. If it's what he wants to do and he's happy doing it, then who is anyone to argue?

He probably just like multiple partners ... I dont get the whole sauna stuff though.... Sounds filthy and disgusting . Load of blokes chucking their muck all over the place ...revolting

    Each to their own!

    It takes all sorts..

I know some guys who've done it/do it. Some are a little messed up, some are perfectly sane. Just like most facets of life really.

If you like sex (lots of it), and like money - and have the looks for it - it seems like a no brainer. Each to their own, indeed.

Indeed saunas can be quite relaxing places I have been in few all over the world and enjoyed them, you can just go in and relax and just chat if you want and they can have good spas, steamrooms, saunas etc, they thend to be not as groupie as gay bars, and you can get what you want wthout too much effort ;).
I guess everyone is different - guess it be a v boring world if we were all the same.

A strategically executed flyer/coupon campaign could work well. Maybe a loyalty card once business starts heating up.

Whatever about the moral implications, id be more concerned about his welfare & safety, tbh. You don't know who you can encounter or what risk you might be putting yourself at. Id imagine in the long run it could damage your mental health and the ability to form healthy relationships.

Locker is you want to try been a rent boy maybe a good place to start would be to rent an experience rent boy in dublin - im sure he would tell the tricks of the trade and where to get clients in dublin - id say the sauna up there would be a good place to start, or else gaydar chatrooms. The better looking and fitter the more guys will want you, gay scene thends to be very concerned with physical world.

Just remember its a lot easy to get gay ass than pussy so your clients thend to old and fat, not very sociable, and a bit wierd in general if they got to pay for sex, cause getting gay sex is lets face easy.

But this line of works comes with alot of dangers - your clients could std riddens, also might want to give you a beating as well as 'a seen to'.

But guess everyone is different, you might like it like my friend, its the oldest profession in the world they say.

But if your a nice lad with respect for himself you might be better off getting a part-time job up there and maybe have a loving bf who will respect you and you him, cause you wont get must respect as a rent boy from your clients or the world in general - that be my take on it.

Exactly no money would pay me be one or go with one these guys start out good and more than likely end up human garbage. Get a bf and live on the safer side and with a little imagination you can enjoy a fullfilling sexual experience and not be at the beck and call of others

Theres **** all work

Being a rent boy is all nice and lovely in your head for the first second you think about it. But then as everyone else said, when gay sex is so easy to come by, you really are not going to have the cream of the crop calling on you for a bit of rough and tumble. Steer clear, I'd say anyway.

If you do feel that way inclined though, there's plenty websites out there where you can run your own webcam business. Or maybe do sex lines. But still, it would really have to be what you want to do I reckon. A friend of mine got called for an interview for a "call centre" and the pay was something like €30/hr. She turned it down though when she realised what it was.

To all of you claiming gay sex is easy to come by, that may be so, but its not so easy to come by with someone that I would want to have sex with!

eh i think that 99er is not desperate for sex. i think he/she is saying that it is more of an intimate thing than copping off with anyone.
the gay community is very diverse. nobody represents anyone.

that is where the whole gay agenda breaks down. we are all different. you do not represent me.
anyway the gay thing is bandied about too much. cds tvs trans bisexuals do not represent me. i personally don't like being under the one umbrella.
we are all different in our needs and wants.

i can understand them and try to get them but none is a representative of me. i only represent myself.

we talk about making a step forward. but yet how can we when people like you represent me?

yeah i love the sex myself. but with someone who means something.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61 ✭✭normaldude

well i guess each to there own boys. I know youi mean about not been represented by LBGT group, I have said this before but was shot down by the controller on here, like you i feel BG represent me by but on not L and T part, I think alot of gay men these days feel the same.

Im just wondering actually is there such a thing as rent girl?

    you do not represent me.
It's more about standing together and supporting one another than representing each other.

That's why it's LGBT -- not a word but an acronym. Four different things together.

I guess that doesn't always get across though.

    [/off-topic]

Male prostitution? Really? Well, I wouldn't but interesting discussion anyway.

But would you really want it from a rent boy? Tbh the simple act of being a rent boy would make them unattractive to me.

    that's the point - he wouldn't

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
