To be honest, it's pointless looking at the brand names. Instead, look at the protein content. For example, Holland and Barrett are running a campaign on TV at the moment about their half price whey - but it's only 73% protein and costs €19.49 for 908 grams (that's €21.46 per kilo). There are much better offers to be had out there.

For example, a 2.5kg bag of this from myProtein in a choice of flavours works out at €44.24 including delivery (that's €17.70 per kilo). This product has 82% protein content. If you buy the bigger bag, you save even more.

Another option is this product from Iron Science. This works out at £42.95 per 4.5kg bag plus delivery.

With a £14.89 flat delivery charge (for orders under £200) with Iron Science but cheaper prices, they are better for large orders.

myProtein are only €4.95 for delivery but their products are more expensive making them better for smaller orders.

If using My Protein, feel free to use the discount code MP289427 (this is my personal discount code). If using Iron Science, use MT5 (this is a site wide discount code and unrelated to me personally).

Both will get you 5% of your first order.

With regards to the Optimum Nutrition product itself, if it's the Gold Standard Whey you're talking about, it's an excellent product and, if you get a good deal, is probably worth going for. However, you wouldn't want to be paying much (if any) more than the myProtein product above - especially considering it's a bigger bag.

Kinetica is another very good brand for whey protein and one of the nicer tasting mixes IMO

I cant wait to be finished my Kinetica and get back to some ONs or Ultimate Nutrition. With my diet consisting of chicken, brown rice and broccoli daily, I look forward to a protein shake, and Kinetica is just disappointing.

+1 on the myprotein. I've tried the Holland and Barret (muck), the kenetica (good) and the myprotein as per link above and it is abosulutely fantastic stuff! Try the vanilla, lovely stuff. I just placed an order for it yesterday (1x 1kg bag of vanilla and 1 x 1kg bag of banana flavour).

You really haven't lived until you lash a scoop of whey in to a home-made fruit smoothie, tastes like a milkshake!

Overall though regardless of the taste, the mixability of the MP whey was superior to the other 2.

myProtein also do Isolate here as well as a number of reasonably priced blends.

myProtein is the biggest online UK supplier of sports nutrition. If you haven't heard of them, it's probably because they don't spend a fortune on advertising and pass the cost onto you as the customer.

Dr Mercola's site strongly advises against using isolates. Rather he recommends concentrate. Is he wrong and does myprotein contain aspartamme? So unsure which to purchase

The difference is negligble. Especially when most of the tiem people are mixing it with a galls of milk.
    I prefer a blend personally.

I think MyProtein use Sucralose and not aspartame
