Who do you think is the greatest rock band or artist of all is? Now I know it's a hard question and it's probably been done before on the boards. Alot of people will say Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath to name a few but for me it Has to be Frank Zappa he was so far ahead, he could play any type of music, now that's only an opinion as I'm sure many of you have different views on who was the best. Maybe it's a stupid question to ask.

    Hendrix or Zappa, I guess.

    Or Jane's Addiction...

in terms of contribution to the evolution of rock music I reckon the Stones for band and Bowie for single artist. Those 2 in particular inspired others to start bands or start singing and/or become rock stars.

    The Beatles.

    Elvis Presley.

The amount of closet Elvis fans in Ireland is often overlooked. Many thousands attended the Elvis Concert at the O2 in Dublin.

The Lecture on Elvis at Trinity college was packed out a few months ago.

For me, this isn't even a competition, it's Freddie Mercury

Axl Rose is up there but doesn't come close to Freddie

If you were dropped in from another planet and just happened to turn on Kerrang TV, you'd swear it was either Fall Out Boy or Good Charlotte.

Elvis? I imagine the greatest rock artist would have written their own music...

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

If you were dropped in from another planet and just happened to turn on Kerrang TV, you'd swear it was either Paramore or MCR or 30 Seconds To Mars.

Given the current state of Kerrang, I have corrected your post :P

In my opinion its gotta be either Rush or Frank Zappa for talent, songwriting, consistent quality and musical variety across so many albums.

I've changed my mind. Gotta be Funkadelic, Fela Kuti & Miles Davis.
