Are Irish People Asexual?

This is something I've been pondering for a while now. I think I'm becoming asexual in Ireland. I've resided in many parts of the world - England, the States and even Australia - when I return to these places, I become "alive", a feeling of testosterone flowing through my veins. But here, I feel dead. I know that I'm not speaking for everyone (sorry if I offend you girls), but I just find women in Ireland extremely frigid and notoriously conservative towards sexuality. Now, I'm not just referring to Irish girls, even some foreigners that come here, almost overnight express these traits. I feel depressed and it's really killing my confidence in ever finding someone in this country.

I am by no means a virgin and I have had several girlfriends, but these were on stints out of the country. I'm an outgoing and social person and I like to think I'm not ugly, in fact, I know I can't be ugly because I receive a lot of attention when I'm abroad. I've noticed that women here are very unwelcoming to strike up a conversation with - attempts are usually met with one word answers and their body language expresses that perhaps they are asexual too. I'm not sure if they're more direct than foreign girls, perhaps they know what they want to a greater extent; perhaps, it's the weather in this country where we put on heavy clothes that makes invalid any kind of sexuality, or perhaps it's our catholic roots (although I find this a fallacy in this day and age). First and foremost, I believe we have this "little town" mentality towards sex. But women in this country are definitely undersexed, face it..we just don't have as much sex as our European and American counterparts. It's our culture.

Sorry to bring up this topic, but it's having a serious psychological effect on men. The lust, the excitement, the desire of sex and attraction I feel is non-existent in Ireland. What are you thought on this?

But yes, i can see an underlying repression in the Irish culture towards sexuality, at least in certain circles.

My advice in the meantime is to forget women, take up learning something that will occupy your idle time (something of value) and lift weights like a madman.

Hi all. Just out of a long term relationship and finding it difficult to get back into the game. Met my ex at 17, now it's been seven years since. I realise that things change between 17 and now in how to chat girls up but I do make an effort (well, most of the time)..just can't seal the deal. When I go out with friends and women come up to me, thats fine...I can talk bull**** for hours and what ever happens happens. It's me that finds it hard to go and talk with them..perhaps because of my 5 sisters who are real bitchy with guys and it's left a scare with me in how I approach. I am told I am attractive compared with my mates, but they insist on dragging each other to Coppers every week...so what gives? I've spent a lot longer abroad than you and Irish men are just as likely to pull as any other nationality. People are on holidays and are looking for a laugh with anyone regardless of nationality or they see you're on holidays/travelling and are looking to partake in your fun.
