Not much more to add just got an email saying they are going to up prices once again, as the price upping from last month was not enough.

I expect a email from myprotine saying the same.

Where's the cheapest place to get protein these days? I can get 10lbs of ON whey for ~80 locally. Wondering if there are better offers out there as I'm going to make a big enough order shortly. Will also be getting creatine but that seems fairly cheap on myprotein anyway

I've read good things about this product - http://www.bodybuildingwarehouse.co.uk/bodybuilding-warehouse-premium-whey---3kg-4717-p.asp

Delivery to Ireland is a flat 9.99 so if, as you say, you are placing a big order, it should work out well.

I read a review on another site from an Irish guy that says his favourites are choc-cookie followed by banoffee (people were agreeing about these two flavours).

I'd post a link to the reviews but I'm not sure that it's allowed.

I've seen data graphing raw whey prices and it's pretty crazy. I can see it going the way of petrol and oil tho, even if the price of the raw material comes down, the end product won't.

Yeah, I think myProtein's price increase email had them.. it's crazy...

I'm lucky to be working in Northern Ireland and price-matched a big order a couple of weeks ago ordering via myProtein using Iron Science as the price match.

If anyone is using Iron Science, try the MT5 discount code to see if it still works (5% off).

I'd say Iron Science's prices will go up pretty soon too.

Is there still restrictions on how much milk can be produced?

Someone was saying on myprotein forums that Coca Cola is trying to enter the market and is buying up large stocks of whey.

Someone was saying on myprotein forums that Coca Cola is trying to enter the market and is buying up large stocks of whey.

I'm not sure whether I could believe that - although you never know. myProtein were having some complaints about their latest batch of protein differing in consistency and their response was that they have to use different dairies due to the quantities they purchase in but the percentage protein remains the same.

Coca Cola as a brand prides itself, like McDonalds, in their product tasting the same everywhere, all the time.

I suppose it could be possible. My guess is, if they did it, they wouldn't use the Coca Cola brand name - just their distribution network. They wouldn't want it tarnishing the Coca Cola name if it had inconsisencies depending on where and when you bought it so would call it something different.... now, anyone up for a nice refreshing Wheyla Whola????

Thing is if Coke enter the supplement market I don't see them being cheap, they'll use their name and money to produce a normal whey product with a good taste that claims to be one of these superproducts with a price to match.

I'll probably stick with Myprotein or Bulk powders until a cheaper group come a long. Right now they both provide everything I need other than a strong PWO supplement.

The coke/gatorade (gatorade manufactured by Pepsi) thing happened a year ago. Both companies producing protein based drinks and buying up enormous quantities of whey. Is it the sole reason for whey prices going up? Probably not but 2 companies with tens of billions in revenue each year barging into a market is going to shake things up.

Coca Cola as a brand prides itself, like McDonalds, in their product tasting the same everywhere, all the time.

You know they own more than just stuff that comes in red cans? Not every single thing they own has coca cola festooned all over it:

Here's the gatorade offering for anyone who's curious

This post helps to explain it.

The Coca-Cola/Pepsi whoever thing is a red herring.

Harsh winters in the northern hemisphere and dry winters in the southern hemisphere coupled with an increase in demand from asian and oceanic countries where there is a burgeoning middle class is more accurate.

There should be no more price rises - some co's are/were selling at cost and some 'appeared' to be selling below cost.

Just for the sake of argument, here's the founder of Trueprotein weighing in on the issue, from last year when all this kicked off:

Like I said, surely not the sole reason but I hugely doubt you can just dismiss their impact and classify it as a "red herring".

In the same way chinese demand for things like steel and desiel increased prices the same will happen as the indian and chinese middle classes buying power increases.
Indian films have plenty of big tough buy types so lots of fellas in their late teens will be looking to emulate them

think of all the milk thrown away by farmers because they aren't allowed bring it to the market.

and the EU butter/milk mountain maintains the system

the farming quota system is the reason food prices are so high.

Can you please moderate your tone, this is the last of a number of rude and unhelpful posts. I'd ask you to read the forum charter. No more of this.

@Juice man I can tell from your horrible grammer that you were not very well educated and therefore I would deem your advice useless.

If you are looking for a fight I suggest you go somewhere else than on this forum rather than taking your anger from whatever messed up issues you have going on in your life out on decent people.

    Thanks
