Goal: Strength or Size?

I've got a goal of increasing size but, due to the slow nature of bulk gains, am starting to think that increasing strength may be a better goal.

My thoughts are, for motivational purposes, you'll see the weight you can lift going up each week and you are more likely to continue.

When you're goal is size, I imagine most people don't take photos or measurements and rely on the mirror. It's really hard to notice size changes from week to week in the mirror.

By changing my goal to strength gains, the size should come automatically.

What's your thoughts on this or am I overthinking it (I tend to do that :) )?

Training mainly for strength as i lift far less than what I would be happy lifting. Im counting on the reps after my max lifts to put some more meat on the frame
