It's a shop. I can tell from some of the pixels and from seeing quite a few shops in my time.

I was in Elverys on Dawson st on monday and asked .... both the Ireland and the new Leinster jersey are due to be released at the end of this month. They brought forward the release dates of one of them ... can't remember which but it doesn't matter.

    Its definitely a con:rolleyes:

Come on people; just look closely at the RWC logo, as mentioned in the other thread, its appears to be a wetsuit top with the badges photo-shopped in..

The RWC logo was photoshopped on to give an idea what it will look like come autumn. As far as I'm aware though, the rest is 100% genuine.

    I still think it looks suspiciously like a rash vest, just look at the sleeves;

    Musto%20Rash%20vest%20short%20sleeve.gif

Having said that, it does appear there's a rugby ball shape in the rubberised padding, so now I'm less sure :o

Don't most rugby jerseys look like rash vests now though?

Don't think its a Photoshop. Look at the Rubber bits, it makes the IRFU Logo shape. If it is its pretty good going, and pays great attention to detail.
Its not terrible. Will look better on the players.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,048 ✭✭✭jolley123

I hope to god its a photo-shop, or at least a prototype of the real thing. The material looks like a wet-suit, the IRFU crest looks like a cheap plastic coaster sown on and as somebody already mentioned, the stitching makes it look like a rash vest.

  • Is it just me that thinks it's shaped like Paddy Wallace?

Then why is the Puma logo also shopped in?

I'd be very surprised if this was the actual jersey.

    Defo looks like a photoshop.

Either way not mad on it.

These things are nearly always touched up with photoshop, it's not evidence either way of a fake.

I wasn't aware the Puma logo was. It doesn't look particularly fake to me. On scrutiny, it's possible but it certainly isn't obviously fake in the same way as the RWC logo. I can only go on what I've been told and have seen on other sites and those who are normally in the know have said that this will be the jersey. Look at the hologram effect on the crest, that's a massive amount of detail and effort to go to for a fake.

very true, but what I was pointing out is that the sleeves appear to be particularly elongated... either way I could be completely wrong:confused:

The fact that the image has been taken down makes me think that it's probably real.

I think thats brilliant. Hope it is the actual jersey.

The RWC logo is clearly photoshopped, but the rest of the jersey seems very authentic looking.

I've got very mixed sentiments about it. That strange diagonal offshoot to the collar doesn't work for me at all, nor does the big ridiculous 'W' pattern on the chest. Hopefully it won't be too noticeable. And it's surprising - they've seemed to have returned to the CCC green that we had before.

That's if this is the actual jersey, of course...

I think it is, I mean it'd be all too easy to photoshop a rash vest to a green colour and and the relevent parts, but the rubber stuff on the chest for gripping the ball is in the shape of the IRFU crest, and I know it'd really awkward to fake. I imagine the RWC loco is added on because in reality that'll be a sewn on patch like the jerseys have during the HC or Magners league, the original image came from rugby-boutique too, they have been very reliable when it comes to this sort of thing, the green and black munster jersey was up there months before it came out.

Not a fan of that colour at all myself. Prefer the Emerald green.

I reckon this is the real deal, and that the photoshopped logo is probly because it is photoshopped. The designer probly just took his new design for the Irish jersery and fiddled around with it to put the RWC logo in.

Personally I don't really care about which Jersey they wear as long as we get some decent performances and get into a Quarter Final at least.
