DOMS or Rotator Cuff Injury

    I'm not looking for medical advice here, just on whether I need to go to see a specialist or not.

    I have a niggling pain in the back of my left shoulder. I don't feel it when my arm is relaxed or within a pretty wide range of motion.

    I only feel it when I'm raising my arm pretty high out to the sides - for example, yesterday when I was doing dumbbell lateral raises, I had to give up half way through the second set.

    I was doing them pretty heavy (for me) and it was in the evening after a morning session in the gym where I was doing dumbbell clean and presses, dips, pullups, etc.

    I'm not sure whether this is a genuine injury or just DOMS or something and am trying to decide whether to go ahead with my training tomorrow (obviously, if it's completely gone tomorrow, I'll go ahead but I don't want to risk anything).

    I also don't want to go to a specialist unless you think the above sounds like a genuine injury - the range of motion I have without feeling any pain is too great for me to be sure that it is.

    Just to add, after giving up the dumbbell lateral raises yesterday, I had no problem with triceps presses (triceps bar), biceps curls or the incline bench press. (well, just a slight niggle when bringing the triceps bar up to the starting position).
