It's madness. 4 boys in one room and 5 girls in another with not enough beds for them all, that went out with Polio!!!!! I saw that they get games consoles for xmas that those working cannot afford. He is only teaching them to be the same as himself, no aspirations for themselves and that is very upsetting.

These are the rare few though, I can honestly say for every family like them, here and in England, there are about 1,000 families on the SW struggling to get by!

Useless rough maths : If all his progeny reproduced as much as he did you could double the population of the UK in 6 generations.

I could be wrong but I think you can keep collecting extra for every kid over in the UK ,as for over here I don't think you can get anymore after 4 children.

I'd love someone to clarify this.

Mike has 4 sons called Mike and 2 sons called Luke! WTF is that so he doesnt forget their names????LOL

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,332 ✭✭✭Guill

some of them even have the same names.....ffs....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,124 ✭✭✭wolfpawnat

I know this is very right wing and all, but I think that people like this take the absolute píss. That is why there should be a max number of kids the gov will fork out for!!!! E.g. up to 5 because anything after that is really your own choice and not fair to everyone else to pay for!

sounds like a maths question on the inter, all it needs is what is the ratio of girls names given that x =

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,649 ✭✭✭✭The Princess Bride

Imagine his chat up line in the pub.
"How are ya. I've been in prison, I'm an alcoholic , I have scored so many times I've a score of kids.......can I buy ya a pint of strongbow....go on, ya know ya want ta"

Lol its really quite pathetic! He needs a good kick up the arse! He should be sterilised!

The crazy thing is even if either of them could get a job they wouldnt be able to support the family (not that their doing a good job now by drinking and smoking it away)

How will the family cope with him in prison?

Did anyone notice on the intro part that he said his sperm only had to hit the root canal and the egg was fertilised (or something to that effect)?

Despite all the hate, he's beating the crap out of most people when it comes to genetic longevity.

Kind of ironic really.. while most of us look at him in such a disparaging way, he's doing a better job at guaranteeing his own descendancy than most people do. Survival of the fittest turned on its head..

Now if the government told me that my USC was going to sterilise a few sections of society, I wouldn't mind paying it tbh

    Simple solution:
    Child 1 benefits
Child 2 half benefits for second child
Child 3 No benefits at all
    Child 4 Loose all benefits.

Lesson to be learned, don't have children if you can not afford them.
I have a feeling no one would have a second child without the financial stability to give them a decent life.( Or maybe no extra money means no Strongbow). Ireland and the UK must deter people from taking the career choice to become a single parent and put an end to the train of thought It's free to me because...... It is not free, the tax payer is paying for it. So say to yourself "Ithink I will screw the taxpayer again and add to my family" Ieland is worse than the UK because it seems if you pay nothing into the system you are automatically entitled to get everything out of it. If you work and pay your way when you need help you are told you have not enough contributions???

I do agree with you there, but I think these documentaries are made to píss off the public during hard times, I bet he's getting even more flak after it aired in the UK.

He has their names tattooed on his back,so if he duplicates names, he'll have fewer tattoos and more money to spend on........himself

Its just shocking really! People are holding of until they are older to have children, from what i know the people generally having the most kids are on social welfare or can afford it!
Personally I'll be lucky if I can afford to have 2 kids that will have a good life and thats with the 2 of us working full time!

people who work full time also get children's allowance, you get more than people on social welfare, what's your point?

Yeah like if your getting just over 400 GBP a week to feed and dress over 9 kids how do you afford to get the tattoos and have so much strongbow???

People will though. When they grow up, there'll be as much hate for those kids, and their background won't be taken into account. We're all responsible for ourselves, but not everyone gets a good deal starting off in life, and it's not like his kids have much of a chance, yet some geniuses will insist they'd be upstanding citizens if they were in the shoes of that man's kids. If they turn out to be criminals etc, there's no excuse, but there is an explanation...

My point is there is no incentive for people with a load of kids on social welfare to get back to work!! They get a house or rent allowance and money (by all means it may not be a lot i dont know??) to feed and dress their kids, but people who are NOT on the social welfare who have a mortgage and work have to pay for Creche fees etc therefore cannot afford to have more kids... how is that fair??

Yeah very true! its just hard to see the kids left to their own devices and not really looked after.. The older kids are looking after the little ones thats not fair they didnt decide to have all the kids the parents need to get their fingers out and start being parents not fobbing the responsibility onto the older kids..

Children's allowance here is far too much- in comparison to other EU countries. I think it's €130- 150 per child per month-hardly more than people on SW. If it was half that, you'd have every children's charity in country crying out that it's not enough- it's not meant to be a salary, surely only a token.
I have children but stopped after 3 because I wanted all of them to get a proper education- this gov is too generous with their money imho.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 62 ✭✭valm

That sounds like a gripe. Do you not think people who go to work deserve more? They are paying for those who have never worked and have no intention of ever working. At this point I would like to make it clear there are people now out of work through no fault of their own and I do not direct any of my comments to them. The parasites I refer to are those who would not work when there were plenty of jobs. Those who wanted to keep the medical card-rent allowance-council reduced rents-free school books-free school uniforms- health board assistance with expenses-free glasses-free dental care the list is endless. I just hope when the water charges come in EVERYBODY will pay it. Not the taxpayer again

If anything you are in a better position to have kids than anyone on social welfare don't kid yourself, and don't take your position of having a job that can pay a mortgage for granted considering there are so many people without jobs struggling with their mortgages when starting a family is the last thing on their minds.

the cost of feeding and clothing those children is also far too much in comparison to other E.U countries,if you think we're too generous check out France and you'll see which government is more generous.
