Apple Account without Credit Card Information

    sorry if this has been asked before. We are looking at using Ipad2 in an environment with people with special educational needs. They will own their own iPads, but in mosts cases the people do not have a bank account. I know you can buy gift cards or vouchers from Apple which can be used to purchase apps, but can you have an Apple account without having credit card or bank details.
