    I have always used set top boxes and hdmi to get HD but a thought struck me how does a HD TV with an inbuilt tuner display HD content? especially today for Tipp V Cork??

    Or is it plain SD??

    Soarview RTE2 is HD. Everything they transmit is HD (for RTE 2). Some of the content is SD upscaled to HD, but the broadcast is HD. Only if you use SCART to transfer the signal from a STB will it be SD, because it has been down-converted.

    It has been "updownscaled" in that case Sam . :cool:

    Because it has a digital tuner built into the TV, very similar to the set top box one. There are some TV's which can show HD TV channels from cable and satellite, as long as they are unencrypted.

    And if you're asking about Panasonics specifically, the G20B is working perfectly

    g10b ???

    You do know that you can temporarily convert that to the european model tune in the stations and then revert back to the G10B mode and it will keep the stations you have tuned in and you will still have the freesat menu etc.

    As dodgy as what you where going to do, but it works. i suggest you follow the instructions carefully. The discussion around this is a few pages in

    The channel fix is probably called LCN and you enter the desired number instead of each channel - read the manual for that.

    The audio problem is the damn panasonics again, they default to narrative on some channels, you have to press the OPT button and select english every time. Turning audio description off in the menu may help, but I think it is a specific pani problem.

    Have the tv on DVB mode with RTE1 selected,

    Press "Menu" on the remote;

    select "Setup";

    select "DVB Tuning Menu";

    select "channel list"

    Highlight the channel, RTE 1 etc.

    Press the Green Button for "Swap";

    Select the new number you want to give it, 1 for RTE1, 2 for RTE2 etc, then press okay, rinse and repeat with the other channels and you're sorted.

    The standard channel numbers for the Radio channels has seen them being position at Ch. 200 - 209 for the ten radio stations.

    My TV is a Panasonic TX-P50G10B UK FREESAT model but the procedure is similar for other Panasonics. And like yourself I also have the audio problem on the the TV and I doubt if it will ever be sorted tbh.

    Great TV despite this and I wouldn't swap it for anything its like having my own cinema at night time!

    Hi Guys,

    Just wondering if this procedure for retuning the channels works on other Panasonic Models ?

    I have the TX-P50V10 , Not sure if it is B or not, but it is UK freesat Model bought from Watters Electrical ..

    I have all the current channels with the sound issue on some of them., but I cannot retune currently or I will loose them .
    I am aware that when the 2nd Mux goes live, I will loose RTE2 HD, so I will need to try and get the channel back someway ..

    If I can temporarily convert to the European model, I might try it , but I would be a bit wary of bricking the set totally ..

    Has anyone tried this with this particular model ?

    Cheers,

    Bob
