25 minutes gone. 0-0. I think I heard someone on the radio this morning saying less than 1,000 may turn up for this. They might not be far wrong looking at it on the TV.........

Anyone got a feed for this game?

Looking at that tonight, that is seriously embarrassing for whoever organised/ agreed to this tournament. The four associations, presumably.

    1-0 Wales. Aaron Ramsey.

Why don't the FAI give away tickets for these games to schoolboy/girl teams? Surely they are losing money anyway. I'd say there is 2000 tops there tonight.

the surrounding shops and pubs and stalls would make money from people buying food and everything aswell.

I suppose it would be a bit pointless to suggest to the FAI to move these games to smaller grounds around the country...

Wales were 4/5 earlier. I duly obliged. Hopefully they get another couple to easy the worries.

Wouldn't worry about about. The FAI will never try this particular stunt again.

seen this earlier on bbc website. Speed giving out about the way the competition is set up.

fair point in relation to the timing of the game alright.

Fairly pathetic to be watching this match with the lack of people there. Looks like more stewards than supporters at the match. More terrible marketing by the FAI

They should be quiet. Most people went tonight to have a bit of alone time.

Camera panned over to the North stand for a spell there. How many NIron fans did we all count? 50? If even?

They probably sold the rights to a foreign company that stops them from playing/hosting international matches in grounds with capacities under 15,000.

    ;)

He's spot on. Why should Wales have to play 2 games in 48hours when Rep Ireland get 5 days between games. Joke of a tournament from start to finish. Don't be surprised if the trophy falls apart when it's lifted on Sunday.

Aviva must be delighted no one turned up. 90minute advert on skysports.

suppose they could have played it as a curtain raiser to the Ireland/Scotland match.

I personally feel all 6x fixtures should have been paired together into 3 events. People would have come out to see the Republic and as a bonus get a free game on top of it if they wanted to turn up early.

At least one thing we can take from this is the Republic will never be invited to host or co-host a European championship. Nights like tonight show there is no genuine widespread interest in football in this country.

Bellamy should've scored there, fairly embarassing attendance again tonight,FAI should have flogged the tickets for €2 (maybe still a bit steep!) just to fill the place out a bit,or give them away to schools etc.

Has to be more stewards and Garda there then paying customers!

We should do a sweepstakes on what made-up attendance the FAI will announce for this game. I think 5236.

I like the 4-row divider on the first "V" and the steward at the bottom manning it. :D

    2-0 Wales. Robert Earnshaw.

I wonder what is the cost of opening the Aviva for tonight? How many stewards are used etc.

Just after switching on there, the NI fans should be ashamed of themselves. I know they're 2 down but surely they could hang around til closer to the final whistle.

Bloody hell!. Should we be looking in the Guinness Book of Records for a lower attendance at an international match in these islands.............

Once again I think the highlight of the match for me tonight was to see the new Northern Ireland away kit!!! :D
No wonder Gareth McAuley got a contract with West Brom...a different class to all his team mates.
Better performance this evening than against the Republic...but like the Republic game a blunder from the keeper costing a goal (3 on Tuesday) and giving away possession just outside the box when maybe a hoof would've been better!
Roll on the Faroe Islands game in August when we hopefully will get our 2nd win in about 18 games!!! :D...and perhaps score a goal!
Northern Ireland...Northern Ireland...we'll support you ever more!!! :p

    Is 529 actually the attendance?!

a farce, wonder how much the FAI(L) charged for tickets...

    Norn Irl vs Wales

    mind boggling....

Considering the attendance for Ireland/ N.I on tuesday was 15,083, and all of them got complimentary tickets to this game......
well yeah, that just says a lot doesn't it.
    :pac:
    shockin stuff

Even the Iceland tournament in 1986 managed to get 1000+ attendances for all 3 games.

    What an embarrassment!

Hopefully this disaster has an impact of some sort regarding the organisation but i doubt it, Delaney and cronies will plod along as if nothing happened.

Was the goon at the game himself?

I think the FAI admin used up 500 tickets seeing the size of it. :D

Can people just lay off Delaney and the FAI on this one.

This touranment was not exclusively their responsibility, actually I don't even think it was their idea in the first place.

All the associations were behind it and the FAI were the unfortunate ones to host it.

Had it been held in Wales it would have been equally poor, would you still blame the FAI ?

The FAI actuallly did something proactive and offered 3 games for e30 yet the people still stayed away.

Don't blame the FAI if the public are not bothered watching teams with a ranking of 50 odd for e10 on a Friday night.

So I presume they just randomly pulled Ireland's name out of a hat then? Doubt it.

It's fairly obvious this tournament was only created as a way to plug more fixtures into the Aviva stadium schedule in order to start paying back that mountain of debt it has incurred.
