Configuring my p2p settings

Is there any way of configuring my p2p program (say utorrent for instance) to get around eircom's monitoring and evade getting one of the dreaded strikes? I caved and downloaded a lot of stuff once and I heard nothing from Eircom about it. Has this happened to anyone else?
