Is it just me or have they got very slow recently?

Orders take 3 days just to process and delivery that was once 3/4 days now is about 10.

    Any else experiencing long delays?

Yep - they seem to be having problems.

My last order took 4 days to go from "Processing" to "Dispatched". It only took 2 days for delivery though. But in the past, an order would typically go from "Processing" to "Dispatched" on the day the order was placed.

Had a bit of an issue with them last week. Ordered a tyre and they sent me out the wrong tyre. Thing is the tyre they sent me wasnt even listed on their website. HOWEVER it was dealt with quickly and they threw in a sachet of Recovery shake.
But there seems to be something afoot up there for sure.

yep definitely takes longer than it used to found wiggle getting slower takes them 3 days before anything is shipped and post from wiggle and probikekit is pretty slow (which is quite funny considering an posts buy everything online ads )
no chance these days of ordering on a monday and getting it on friday

I'm waiting nine days now on an order from CRC. I only ordered from them 'cos not one bike shop in Cork had what I was looking for. Kinda frustrating.

would it be a case that maybe they are giving priority to those who choose to get the 24hr delivery and those who choose the free delivery are going not as high a priority.
Also I think that for free postage the parcels maybe going to the UK and coming via there where beforehand it seem to come direct.

I had problems with them recently, but they resolved it amicably. I find bike24 better though - and cheaper - and find myself using them whenever I can justify the extra postage (Not good if you're just ordering a small item). I get stuff from bike24 within four days of ordering - and via courier rather than An Post, but lately CRC takes longer.

Maybe becuase it's free and they'd ship everything together they aren't get as much business in Ireland because of their credit card fraud incident and therefore have to wait longer to ship to ensure they're not at a lose shipping the items in bulk?

yea their delivery is cat, my bike left china on a thursday got here on wednesday. CRC dispatched an order to me last monday arrived the following tuesday. could have cycled to them and collected it quicker

I'm still waiting for delivery to Dublin of an order placed on the 26th of April. I could have crawled through broken glass up to Ballyclare and back faster.
I've seen multiple threads along this theme online. Yes, the quality of service has taken a huge dip in recent months, it's sad because they used to be brilliant.

Ordered some stuff on Monday evening ( all in stock ) and order is still being processed. I have to agree both them and wiggle have slowed down a lot lately.

Funny that. I just sent them an email there giving out about it. I ordered a set of tyres for a cycle ive to do at the weekend. Ordered Sunday night and its still being "processed" even though it specifically says orders will be despatched the next working day. will be interesting to see what if any is their response

I had an order take three weeks last time I used the free delivery service, so went for the paid for delivery more recently which took three days. Like others here, I've been going over to Bike24 but purely based on price.

Last couple of orders from CRC had freebies thrown in (pair of gloves in one, and a bunch of electrolyte sampler tablets in another). A nice touch and appreciated, but I'd rather prompt delivery.

To be honest lads, I dont know why you bother with CRC or Wiggle. rosebikes.co.uk is the cheapest place for bike stuff. They are based in Germany. The co.uk is just the english version of their website. Delivery is 4 days and only costs €5.95

rosebikes.co.uk is the cheapest place for bike stuff.

No single company is the cheapest for all bike stuff. Shopping around is the only way to get the best deal!

Aero bars i want are 104 of crc and 144 on that site.............

I also had problems with a CRC delivery and they said they use Royal Mail for small stuff which means the packages are routed via Nottingham and so involves 2 legs across the Irish Sea. At least with wiggle it's only one leg. Neither are as quick as they used to be.

I was laso interested in a road frame that fell in price on Friday, then went up once on Monday and then up another 100 quid on Tuesday. It's like trading bonds.

An order I had still says 'processing' even though it arrived after 2 weeks mind you.

Yeah, they are probably too busy ignoring emails about the credit cards :pac:

Mine was the same story. I emailed them today and I got an email saying your order has been dispatched. Dont know if it had anything to do with my email but a coincidence none the less

with all these problems with all these online suppliers maybe its time to go back to the local bike shop.phone them see if they have it in stock, how much it is and pick it up

I've ordered a fair bit from CRC ovre the last few months and it's all been dispatched and delivered pretty quickly. To be fair none of it was urgent though. I got stung with the CC fraud too but was lucky that my bank flagged it and contacted me.

The wife ordered a tri-suit two weeks ago, it updated to dispatched the morning after and no sight of it yet. Emails have been sent but there have been no replies yet...

If I knew that free delivery meant 10+ days then when I was ordering I would be in a position to make a decision about the relative cost saving vs how quickly it was needed. It's just poor customer service now.

invariably they never have want i want in (its a 90 min round trip in the car to get there as well) although i did buy a commuting tyre a couple of weeks ago and they were only a couple of quid more than online

I just sent them an e mail re order still being processed since Monday........i don't expect a reply but i think it will be the last time i deal with them.

I've crossed them off my list. If I just then cross them all off then I'll be much richer. Recently, Ribble and wiggle took 5 working days and crc took 12 for small items.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 76 ✭✭HurlyBurly

Same story here. Ordered a few small items, last Monday week. Still no sign of anything. presumably being ferried back & forth over the irish sea by carrier pigeon.

A pity, I was really impressed with them till now. Will have to shop elsewhere... maybe even do my bit for the local economy and go to some local shop even if it costs a bit more.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 682 ✭✭✭Signal_ rabbit

    They boast on their website:

"Same day dispatch on all ‘in stock’ orders that are received by CRC before 3pm UK Time Mon - Fri. Bikes and custom build wheels are not guaranteed for same day dispatch as we will take time to build and inspect your product before releasing it for dispatch.
Any orders received after 3pm GMT or during the weekend should be dispatched the following working day."

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,049 ✭✭✭thehamo

funny, I got my delivery by courier this morning. I wonder how much of it is down to the bitchy email I sent them....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 426 ✭✭High Nellie

At least they know that they have a problem. I received this automatically generated e-mail today from and order I sent two days ago - this is just part of it:

"Just a quick email to let you know that your delivery may arrive a little late, as we are currently managing unforeseen delays in our processing. We try our very best to ship your order as quickly as possible and we’re really sorry this has happened.
Please rest assured that we are doing everything we can to get your order to you on time."

I'd like to know what a "little late" is. I hope they get their act back together - I've always found them great.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,234 ✭✭✭Edwardius

Got the same email this morning and they also cancelled part of an order. Trying to sort out returning a damaged item they sent too and it'll be five working days before I even get a reply to the email. Must be busy!

Order placed Tuesday 25th. Got email telling me it was dispatched Thursday night / Friday morning.
No sign of it a week later - wtf. How does it take over a week for delivery? I'd have it quicker from US than a couple of hundred miles up the road.

Used to have orders within a couple of days.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,991 ✭✭✭el tel

It was in the local paper that because they have so much goining on, CRC are commencing full 24 hour operation with a new night shift shortly becoming operational.

Apparently there's an issue with packages coming from the UK according to An Post. I had to ring them about a package I'm waiting for over a week on and was told it's a nationwide problem. I pointed out I knew of others that received theirs from the same provider within a week but apparently that was just lucky and not the norm.

I have found in recent times that my LBS has been either cheaper or within 10% of CRC or Wiggle for alot of goods, got my cateye 610 rear lights for about 5euro cheaper, I got a set of leg warmers for a tenner cheaper, and a buff for 2 quid cheaper. As well as alot of stuff on par price wise. I don't expect them to be cheaper than them with everything or in fact anything (most will freely admit they can't come close to beating online deals for a full bike) but the truth of the matter is that in recent times most LBS have come down to meet as best they can, I have no problem paying a few quid extra for a bit of banter/advice and the ability to check out the goods before I buy, not to mention AFAIK, a far easier returns method if there are any problems.

Hadn't heard of any problems. Did they give you any idea as to when you might receive the package?

Nah, he reckoned lead time can be anywhere from 12 to 15 days at the moment. I'm giving it to Tuesday before I start making a fuss again.

I ordered three tubs of High5 on Tuesday evening and they arrived Thursday morning. Free postage for what was a 5kg delivery. Sweet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 320 ✭✭munsterleinster

Ordered two weeks today. Fair enough, it was a Friday, but not dispatched till the following Tuesday and nothing arrived as yet.

The CRC official line seems to be that Royal mail are saying up to 15 days to deliver... That's 15 working days too.

So my order from the 20th May can take till the 14th June to arrive.
After that, they will look into it as a lost package.

Ordered a few random bits (stems, tyres etc) and they all arrived within 2 or 3 working days. No complaints on my end
