I am just looking for guidance about how much protein supplements I should be taking. I am 24 years of age and weigh 10 stone. I am looking to build muscle and have received a programme from the gym I am attending. The programme works all muscle groups and I spend about 1 hour in the gym 3-4 times a week. I also cycle cycle to work 3 times a week which takes 30 mins each way. How often should I take protein supplements and how much should I take?

    Regards,
    JIM

I suggest one scoop (about 30g) of whey protein straight after a workout in the gym. Eat real food the rest of the time, but make sure you have a quality protein in every meal. Learn to love cottage cheese, it's a great snack way to get in the protein.

30g whey after the gym will help of course. But its not a noticable change to your diet. On workout days you are burning more caloires, the difference is more than 30g whey.

You need to each more all the time, bigger meals, more calories, 3000+ cals a day etc
Whey or other proten supps are just a way to fill gaps when you don't have time for real food.
