This is a serious thread about supplements and how/why to use them!

I'm very thin and would like to put on some weight. I do a lot of cycling which keeps any weight/fat off me. Despite this, I always have a bit of fat on my belly. At the same time I'm trying to eat bit more(I don't really eat enough) and healthier (I probably eat a bit too much meat and fat).

Another reason I think I keep flab on my belly is that I've got a really weak core which Ive never worked on. Ive just done years of cycling but no other exercise. Ive started to really exercise my core now and think I can already feel a difference.

My question is... if I want to put on weight is it appropriate for me to use supplements? Or are supplements only for people who are doing serious weight sessions in the gym etc. ? If I take any weight gain stuff will it just go on my stomach with the rest of the flab?

Would it be a good idea to take some protein drink or similar immeadiately after each core work out or cycling session to ensure I don't loose muscle/weight before I eat a proper meal?

I know there are a few questions there but Im finding if you take exercise etc. seriously it really works!

    Thanks
