    Hi,
    Just looking for some advice with this - my current stats are 12.5 Stone, 5ft 11, 35yo male.

    My goal is to get down to about 11.5 in a month or so and build a little muscle - I have not been doing any exercise for about 6 months - had my 3rd knee operation!

    In terms of exercise - what I am doing now is about 20 mins each way to work on the bike Monday - Friday.

    Fitsquad in Bushy park 2 evenings a week (1 hour sessions) and 45min of weights at home 2/3 nights a week

    Diet is pretty good at the moment (i think) - typically


    brekky : bowl of porridge with honey + 1 slice of toast
    Lunch : soup or salad or maybe a sandwich once or twice a week
    Dinner : chicken or fish and veg or bean salad

    snacks are usually twice of one of these through the day - cheese and crackers/slice of toast + peanut butter/yogurt+nuts/popcorn.

    A few drinks at the weekend but nothing major.


    I'm thinking maybe I need to add a short workout in the morning ~ maybe 20 mins before I get on the bike to work but I'm not sure what. I've heard talk of 'kick-starting' the metabolism in the morning but I've no idea what would be best to concentrate on - weights, sit-ups, pressups etc...
