Dunno. Went into the superintendents office about a week ago and sorted it out... Not sure when it has to be done by but I assume end of this week?

End of June, usually. I haven't had a locker since before modularisation though so the supernintendo may have moved this deadline forward.

I just emailed him there so if there's anything worth saying I'll report back here.

Any idea if there're going to be lockers in the new Biosciences building?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 393 ✭✭bonerjams03

Having emailed him, the Superintendent, he just let me send him my locker number and where it is and that he'll mark it as reserved.

Whether he wants everyone emailing him, I don't know, but either he way he'll still have to spend time reserving each locker.

There was a sign on the side of my locker today that says lockers don't need to be cleared out until Thursday June 30th (for anyone else who's finished :))

Tomorrow is locker clear-out day. Do we need to clear out our lockers if we renewed them?

When I went in to say I want to keep mine for next year, he said that I could use it over the summer.

Yeah, that's how it was last year. IF you're keeping the locker, they won't go near it.

    Bump.

Got a locker last september. Never went back, still have the key, had a few notes in there, thats it. Will they have cleared it, was i meant to go back to renew?

I'd say you could probably head back to the office and sort it, I don't reckon they would have cleared it by now, soon though, I'd imagine.

Incoming First Year here. Just wondering if the demand is big and the cost involved? How do I go about getting one?

Less than half the queue, went the whole way around the square. Almost as bad as TBall.

€20 Fee and another 20 deposit.

Queue up and pay, that simple. Get there by like 9:30 and you should have your choice of location. Arts block for arts people, Lloyd/Ham if you're at the bottom of campus.

I'd get there earlier if you want a choice. Went in myself at 7am on the first day and got myself a Hammo locker. There were still lockers left in the Panoz and Llyod later on in the day. There's double lockers in the arts block.

Also, any one ideas on when we have to pay if we want to keep our lockers for next year. I asked to hold mine but I'm on placement from next week till end of Fresher's. Can I go in and pay this week?

I got Ham too, not sure when exactly I was there....wait...exif data(queue debs photos, *cringe* )...computer says 07:11. Yeah, get there early.

I emailed the maintenance guy and he said to pay when I'm back in September. So my plan is to call in to his office late on Locker Day when the great rush is gone.

Im an incoming first year, so I know nothing about the lockers. I want to get one. On what day do people get them? Is it the first day of the freshers week?

College operates a system whereby you can rent a locker for the academic year. Lockers are located in the Arts Building, the Hamilton Building, Panoz East-End and the Lloyd Building. You pay a small annual fee and a returnable deposit. However, there are not nearly as many lockers as there are students, so demand is high. Lockers are allocated on a first come-first served basis; application forms are available from the security desk in the Arts Building on the first day of term.

I forgot I had to pay rent each year so I didn't pay til about week 3 of term. They mailed a little note through my locker door reminding me I had to pay.:p

Oh that's the first week of classes, so that's grand. Phew! I have the most excellent locker location. I'm not giving it up till I leave the place. :)

    FECK!

Just back from the security/whatever desk. Your man wasnt very friendly, and it seems lockers are gone. If you have not renewed your locker by now the contents will have been disposed of and the lock changed. There is no way to renew now until the first day of term when you can queue with everyone else. Also, deposit will not be returned. :(

The could send you a bloody reminder:mad:

There were signs on the lockers for 3 weeks LB!

Also, there was a thread in here somewhere about it.

    Hard luck.
