I have lost some of the motivation to work out this last week because I am feeling physically and mentally drained after 5 weeks on SS. I took an extra day to recover last weekend but that did feck all. So how do you deal with fatigue?

Take a break... it can sometime take more than 24hrs to let the body recover.

    Either that or change programme?!?

deload. either take a week off or do your sets with 60% of the weights you do at the moment. It worked wonders for me, I used to constantly keep hitting a glass celing where all my lifts plateaued or went down.
Then with the programme I do now it has a set deload week and I then realised previously I was knackered all the time

depends mate is it a mental or physical fatigue you are suffering from?

if its mental it could be down to a whole lot of things personal issues included, but some basic tips would be to look at your program maybe its getting a bit stale, train harder and the benefits should motivate you this can be helped by keeping track of your weight, muscle size, goals on a weekly basis.

if its physical muscle fatigue again there's a few things but really as said above it can take longer than 24 hours for your body to recover so rest and make sure your getting enough sleep this is when muscles grow and recover. More food the increase of calories (unless your trying to lose weight) means the increase of fuel which means more energy. Also maybe look into some kind of pre-workout supplement, you can get some pretty good ones that will get the blood pumping.

also it could be your training environment maybe a change of gym etc, or a gym buddy.
