La Liga Week 38

    17:00 Málaga v Barcelona
    19:00 Hercules v Sporting Gijon
    19:00 Real Madrid v Almeria
21:00 Deportivo La Coruña v Valencia
    21:00 Espanyol v Sevilla FC
    21:00 Levante v Real Zaragoza
    21:00 Mallorca v Atlético Madrid
    21:00 Osasuna v Villarreal
21:00 Racing Santander v Athletic Bilbao
    21:00 Real Sociedad v Getafe

All games played today. I wonder if C.Ronaldo will score a brace/hat-trick tonight, or more if Real Madrid run rampant against already relegated Almeria.

Apparently when Barca won the league last week Messi wasn't glad at all he didn't start. When news of C.Ronaldo getting a brace against Villarreal appeared, Messi didn't go onto the pitch when the celebrations started, and didn't appear in the official team photograph. He eventually got pushed. onto the pitch and the photograph was re-taken. I wonder if Pep Guardiola will play Messi a bit, to try to keep him in a good mood for the CL final.

I hope the games will be good.

above 2 posts = Barca fans sulking their precious God (not my words) won't get the chance to score tonight. For Cristiano Ronaldo to score more in a season would mean their brains would explode. (Or implode, not sure which way it works)

The betting suggests a few of these games are fixed.

I am more a madrid fan than barca but this fascination with top goalscorer is pretty pathetic. I suppose if you cant win one of the 2 trophies of relevance, domestic league or cl then you will take what you can get! It would be like in 86 lineker tapping maradona on the shoulder saying "I am top goalscorer mate".

How many goals has Ronaldo scored since Real's season finished?

Finished, when was that? When they won the Copa Del Rey against a full Barca side? When C.Ronaldo scored goals against 4th placed, Europa League semi-finalists Villarreal and 6th placed Sevilla?

When it didn't matter anymore what Ronaldo did because Real weren't going to win the league. He's had a phenomenal season though, fair play to him.

Well not actual betting patterns (that I'm aware of) but the bookies have priced Deportivo La Coruña v Valencia and Levante v Real Zaragoza very strangely - Levante at about 5.00 and Zaragoza 1.50 which is crazy. Similar for Depor and Valencia

They effectively lost it on 16th April when they failed to defeat Barça at the Bernabeu. That is the date all the critics would tell you and also when several of the Madrid players more or less stated it themselves after that game. Mathematcially it was only 10 days ago when Barça got a point against Levante.

Actually we lost 2 games in a row, including 1 at home to Zaragoza, immediately after the Barca draw. If they weren't lost who knows what would have happened.

Really puts into context just how good this Barcelona side are, Ronaldo with 39 goals would surely be driving the majority of genuine title contendors on towards winning the league.

Tbf you can't blame them for not wanting to be embarrassed 8 or 9-0.

X2, and Ozil has been great this season. TBH it wouldn't mean a lot of Kaká left at this stage.

Ozil now with his 25th assist of the season. Hopefully it will encourage Almeria to come out a bit more.

    FFS they scored.

He needs a LB and RB

    Move Ramos back to CB

    Why sulk?

Messi's goals won us the league and a CL final appearance. Hahaha

It amazes me how teams like Almeria tonight, who are doing good, and Hercules who won at the Camp Nou, do as they as they good.

They might lose 4-0 at home, losing comprehensively to a mid-table side the next week but they somehow turn it on when on the big stage.

I saw that giant Messi picture you put up before you edited this post(with a Barca top off, presumably when celebrating for them), it took up more than a page full! It was massive!

Ya, and I removed it as it was too big, what's your point? He didn't have his top off either, he was wearing the league champions tshirt, but I guess you wouldn't know anything about that this season right? ;)

Be quiet and watch the greatest forward in La Liga in action.

I like Marcelo. The whole back line is slightly suspect at times.

Ramos is very suspect at both positions. Not a huge fan of either CB now.

Almeria literally have all their team back ATM.

Good going forward but very lacking defensively imo. Ya id agree about Ramos alright. They need to buy whole new backline. Im suprised they dont buy Coentrão and maybe Chiellini at least instead of buying CM's that they dont really need imo
