Terrified of Gaining More Weight! Please Help! :(

I'm 17, 126lbs and 5ft2 and I have possibly the worst eating habits ever :(... I've tried losing weight multiple times but just end up puting everything I lose back on again plus more weight. And to be honest I think my eating habits are even worse than when I first decided I wanted to lose some weight :( The thing is I just can't stop eating, I know Im an emotional eater at times but at other times I just binge because I'm bored or because the food is there (disgusting I know but I can't seem to control myself). I also eat loads when Im stressed and atm its exam time so I think this is contributing to my awful habits...

I really need help on what I should be doing to create a healthy and sustainable diet as I really want to lose a stone. I run 3/4 times a week, is that enough exercise to be doing to lose weight paired with a good diet?

Oh and one question... back in sept I started eating healthily and I weighed myself every evening and it worked for a few months until someone close to me passed away and I went through a really bad patch. Do you think I should go back to weighing myself everyday as it did work for some time or should I weigh myself every week? (I don't like using a measuring tape even tho I know people say it's the best method but I get demotivated very quickly if I don't see many results).

    Please please help :(

    Thanks

You are 5ft 2 and 9 stone, thats a pretty healthy weight to be at! but from reading your post your mindset and dieting isn't healthy at all and quite alarming tbh. YoYo Dieting is bad news.

Can you give us an example of a typical "healthy day" when you were losing weight and a typical day when you eat junk etc?

The thing is I know that my BMI is in the healthy weight category (but just about) but I don't feel healthy or look it really..

    Typical healthy day:

Breakfast 7.15: Muesli (unsweetened), natural yogurt + banana
    Snack 11.30: Apple
Lunch 1.10: Salad = tuna, lettuce, cucumber, sweetcorn
    Snack 4.30: Cereal bar/apple + peanut butter/ carrot & hummous
Dinner 7.30 (aprox.): Depends really, in a family of 5 I don't really get much say in what's for dinner! Maybe chicken, veg and potatoes or pasta and tomato sauce (it varies)

    Unhealthy day:

Would be the same up until I get home from school then: bread, sandwiches, cereal bars, multiple apples + lots of peanut butter... you get the idea :(

Those would be during the week and the weekend varies, but I know that if I could keep my weekdays healthy and controlled I could do the same on the weekend.

    Thanks for the reply!

Your healthy diet isn't too bad, quite carb heavy and short on good fats but i was expecting worse and for it to be really low on cals, throw in some eggs instead of the muesli and it looks quite decent. Cereal bars are not much better than bars of chocolate really you should give them a miss.

Lots of people eat way too much bread because its filling for about 30 minutes then you want more. What sort of PB do you have? If eating lots of apples and PB, while not unhealthy they pack quite a bit of calories if you eat lots of them. Would you say you enjoy your healthy diet or find it too restrictive.

If you could name the foods that you feel make you binge what would they be? If a lot of it is boredom related after school then how about picking up a hobby that keeps you busy for a few hours? You say you do running, do you enjoy the running?

Em its just tesco's own brand PB... what should I have with the eggs in the morning? I like it when I stick to it but I've got really bored of it recently and I can't think of other things to bring in for lunch.

I really love running, I also love swimming but the only pools near me are expensive and I could only afford to go once a week... what good fats could I eat to substitute the cereal bar because I'm always hungry after school so I couldn't go without anything from lunch to dinner, especially if I'm running after school..
