Looking like the unbeaten streak is coming to an end for Djokovic. Cant see him coming from 2 sets down to beat RF.

i may have spoke too soon. Cracking set from ND there. 2 sets to one now and match will hardly be finished tonight.

Brilliant stuff by Federer,he looked back to his best.
It would be great if he could win on Sunday ,if he doesnt wilt mentally he has the beating of Nadal.

It would be great alright! but I really want Nadal to win so I confess that I may be a bit biased in my opinion but I have comfort in the statistics between both of them of them on clay- its 11-2 in favour of Nadal and overall its 16-8!...

Roger has improved tremendously in the past months but I gotta give this one to Nadal.

I predict a 4 set win for Nadal!...but it is going to be some match.

Congratulations Nadal - your mind games and lying have worked.

I wish journalists at the post match conference would have the balls to ask him
why he has been LYING and playing mind games through the whole tournament.

    A disgrace.

Nadal to win tomorrow in 3 easy sets, Fed did him a massive favour beating Djokovic - who owns Nadal now....

edit - ok maybe not "owns" but im sure Djokovic would have beaten Nadal

What are you talking about??? It's probably his tennis ability that has him in the final...

What with the nice weather and all, does anyone know of a pub in dublin city that will be showing the final tomorrow, preferably in a beer garden?

funny reading those bizarre posts though I must say. The reason journalists don't ask him those questions is because it's not true, plain and simple

Between him and the Williams Brothers, I certainly get confused...

However, I just came on to say well done to Li Na.. She was incredible.. and when it was put up to her in the second set, she had the mental strength to pull through...

Great game by Li Na, well done to her for winning!

Federer was very impressive yesterday!! He was playing like it was 2005...unreal!! :D
I really really hope he doesn't fall apart against Nadal tomorrow. He'll have to keep his level up if he wants to win! It would be amazing if Federer wins after being wrote off by many coming into this tournament!!
Also, the French crowd were ridiculously pro-Federer; I've never heard them like that, it was like A Swiss crowd or something! Unbelievable! Wonder who the crowd will get behind tomorrow.....

Fantastic win for Na Li. She was great!! Played some excellent tennis and wore Frankie down. All credit to Schiavone, she was a great champ. Hopefully, this will boost tennis exposure in China. TBH, it was kinda nice to see a veteran of the tour win the title.
Who would have thought, 2 weeks ago, that Li would win this tournament? My original pick was Clijsters!

Daniel Nestor & Max Mirnyi won the Mens Doubles Final, beating Juan Sebastian Cabal & Eduardo Schwank in 3 sets, 7-6, 3-6, 6-4.

Thats exactly what will happen, and another black day for tennis as a cheat wins

I think Federer will come out of the blocks and win the first set .
The start of the second set could be all important, as thats usually when Nadal gets on top and Federer dips.
If Federer can maintain his performance against Nadal, something he hasnt been able to do in along time ,he has the winning of the match.

I hope Federer will adapt his game to combat Nadal better than he has done recently.
He needs to realise Nadal is going to repeatedly serve to his backhand and direct most of his ground strokes to his backhand too.
Federer should play aggressively ,serve and volley when required and most importantly not get nervous .

    Looking forward to an epic.

Are you sure you are not a Federer fanboy who hates Nadal so much , because he beats him so many times in Grand Slam finals ?

Federer is playing superb tennis this tournament. He looks almost back to his best.
His serve, movement and more importantly his confidence seems to be back to the standard of a few years ago.

I'm a big Federer fan and predict this will be the closest French final between them yet.

Can someone please explain to me what the above post is in reference to? Haven't been following tennis closely of late so I'm a bit lost!

Federer off to a flyer so far, 3-0 in the first set, come on Nadal catch up!

Yeah Roger bossing the match so far. Seems to really have his gameplan whereas Rafa looks a little bewildered...

How would Federer falling apart have anything to do with Nadal being a cheat? That's crazy!

I really hope Nadal wins this. He doesn't look mentally up for it but it would be all the sweeter if he manages to. He looks incredibly tired.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 361 ✭✭BazBox

Nadal does look tired, has brought it back to 5-5 in the first, Federer still looks the better player so far though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,222 ✭✭✭brimal

Fed needs to get his first serve back or it will be game over

What a disgrace pretending to be injured and getting the trainer out to waste time - a disgusting player

Nadal did the exact same at Wimbledon last year when he was on the brink of defeat.

Shame Fed is past his peak. Nadal had to practically injure himself to even touch the standard of the Swiss genius. Straight set win for Nadal now

Same old story with Roger, his first serve goes awol when needed.
If he loses the first set its all over,he should have won it .
Serving for it he failed to get any of his first 4 first serves in.Definitely mental.

I know a few posters here "hate" Nadal but my god he's some player, although Federer should have breezed this set it has to be something in his head against Nadal, not over yet though

He's a disgrace , throughout the tournament saying he couldn't play well enough to win - feigning injuries here in the final
Disgusting - and not a fed fan either _ I like Djokovic who would have seen past this crap today
