I heard one of them here on the northside.

Sound slightly different to the cop ones which usually fly around.

Black Hawk Down Black Hawk down.

Must've gotten too close to Palmerstown. At least the terrain will be similar enough.

I thought the chinooks and blackhawks were racist slurs before I investigated :P

I think the air corp might be doing some operations with some Us/brit equipment, otherwise we're being invaded :o

There are a few areas of Ballyfermot that could do with some napalm or at least some rockets if they want to head out this way

It's all US equipment (US made anyway) and yes it's to do with the Queen and or Obama.

Probably, they headed off into the southwest, either the landed in weston airport or are gone to cork
    Or maybe back to baldonnel.

I love the thudding sound of the Chinooks. Often get them flying along the Thames and to Colchester where air assault troops are based, and you can hear them coming from miles off.

The element of surprise is lost on those yokes anyway, but that ain't gonna stop them pwning yo ass.

Are they being operated by Air Corps personnel or would they just be supervised by the Air Corps?

Obama didn't, they fly different profiles when they don't want to be heard, like very low and against the direction of the wind from the intended target. Works very well, you don't hear them until it's too late.

One of the chinooks flew over the city centre at about 4.35 today. Had a good view of it from Tara St station.

Saw 2 Chinooks over Killiney 15mins ago, impressive looking.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,812 ✭✭✭mailforkev

They flew over me here in Loughlinstown about 10-15 minutes ago, two Blackhawks followed by three Chinooks.

They headed out around Killiney Hill over the bay and obviously around to you lads.

    Pretty impressive sight.
