You did 'sweet fack all' all year and think you may have only failed one? I should have done arts :pac:

I've to wait till the 24th - won't actually be at home, so hope they do the usual trick of throwing them up a day or two early!

In first year, I had them a few days beforehand, because CS students had figured out how to access them. Last year, I'm pretty sure that they were supposed to be out on a Friday and I got them Wednesday

It was the same for me last year when I was a mere first year.

Either the UCC IT department should be embarrassed for being so vulnerable to anauthorised access, or proud that their students are so competent :p

They shut it down pretty quickly though - should be proud of the students I think!!

anyone know what 'pass by compensation' means???

anyone know what 'pass by compensation' means???

If you fail a subject in the summer exams but get over 30% you may be able to pass as your other results are used to drag you up to a pass mark. Pass by compensation pretty much means you failed the class but dont have to repeat in August

Does this apply to First Year Arts.

    http://www.ucc.ie/admin/registrar/marksandstandards/

Explains all about what is required to pass

It goes into way too much detail over way too many pages so you should enjoy it :P

Not going to think about them til the 24th June :) pity they won't come out earlier though, we had our exams in January because we were on work placement for the second semester, it's a long wait from January to June :(

Are you sure? Check anyway, because they might have gone before the Spring examinations board, our assignment for our placement before Christmas is up for a while

Unless of course you are a nursing/midwifery student and its a 50% pass mark....

Dont see ours til 23rd......... I am hoping those clever CS students work out a way for us to get it earlier and will be begging ye all to let me know! I saw them a week early in 2009 but last year I was still waiting at 4.20pm... they came out just after but that extra 20mins were hell!

Unfortunately, they're not. We were told before we did them that it wouldn't be until the end of June so 3 weeks today...not going to think about them!

Does anyone know the story with the effect 2nd year results has on your actual degree mark?? My 3rd year exams went quite and my essays were very good all year-but I was pretty lazy in 2nd year, averaged around 52% I think... How will this drag down my overall degree mark??

Think it depends on the course. Nursing & Midwifery it 10% 1st year, 20% 2nd year and 35% for each of 3rd and 4th year.

Sadly my 3rd year has been shocking so my good 1st and 2nd year are pretty irrelevant!

Neither, you log in through the student portal to check them

Where in the student portal are our results? Is there a tab at the side of the page or will it appear on the Student Portal welcome page once we log in? Thanks.

go to http://www.ucc.ie/en/sit/ log in as normal. The portal will open in a separate window and if you click on 'MyUCC Student Administration' the web interface comes up...again in a separate window. Click on student enquiry, then exam results. Then you click on the results you want. Ours arent highlighted yet as they have delayed the release until next week...boohoo!

    Good luck!
