Not too popular but iv seen a few people do it. My next door neighbour, pretty old dude, is deadly at it. Has been face down in his garden for 4 days now...

Everyone seems to be doing it!

But almost always at night and on their beds for some reason...

It is relatively funny. Not funny when somebody dies though. Massive waste of life.

We have more enjoyable things to pass the time, like the annual Ploughing championships.

In any case, I don't understand the Australian obsession of it myself, they should keep to the sea and surfing.

Saw a bunch of teens planking around Clane the other night. If I hadn't read about what it was the other day, I would have been wondering 'why is she taking a photo of him lying across the gap between two pillars!'

Lying facedown in weird places and getting someone to take a picture.

I did it once in a nightclub and got thrown out. Or maybe i was just drunk...

    "Pleb ****"

A new craze among spoiled rich Australian teens where they ejaculate in the face of a poor person on the street and run away.

    Oh, that's pretty retarded.

I've seen pictures of it, but didn't know it had a stupid name for it :pac:

you can see where it started though. Someone passes out face down [as ye do] someone else takes a photo on their phone, craze spreads, now with 'fakes' and then the next step is doing it in funny places, but risking your life on the 7th floor for it? for fuck sake like

We were calling it "Extreme Facedown" a year ago.

I'm surprised the Australians didn't call 'em chizzwozzas...

Whatever you think up as being stupid, real life always tops it.

As mentioned Chris Morris would be proud, though it looks more like a The Day Today parody than Brass Eye.

Its' the sort of thing most people would find mildly amusing for about five minutes, then get bored. I haven't seen any one doing it around here, tbh. Maybe thats' just dour old Belfast, though

exactly! I remember when it was a craze here last year, my favourite one that I saw was a guy face down in the deli fridge of a supermarket (among the meats and cheeses).

I did think it was funny. It's something about the pose. But I never thought it was anything to do with how dangerous the spot was, just how ridiculous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,598 ✭✭✭✭prinz

As with anything the longer it goes on the more dangerous it's going to get, lying on cop cars, lying in jet engines etc. Utter twats.

You've summed it up nicely there! It just seems like fun at the time. There's an irony in making a big deal out of something so pointless that really appeals to bored students! :p

Did it in the nightclub in Maynooth with a few of my mates..
Basically took up the dance floor just lying face down! people dancing around us and stuffs..

Funny at the time because we were fairly full of booze.

    Swiftly thrown out though!

    Oh well...

Its been around for years, but it was called the bullet around here anyway. Planking sounds dirty
