Got an elbow to the ribs playing soccer last week. I went to GP and he said just take painkillers, no xray or anything. Only painfull when running or fast walking , can cycle bike with no discomfort so was thinking of doing an hour cycling in gym a day for physical and mental health. I have no problem with breathing and the ribs. Will and hour cycling a day help or hinder the healing? Anything else i can do fitness wise?

As far as I was aware a broken rib just heals itself? I've seen them strapped up but not sure if it does any good.

HOWEVER, I am not a doctor or a physio so this is not exactly sound advice :D

really sorry OP but if there's an existing break or fracture that's something that a physio or a medical professional needs to advise on.
